The SINGER® Even Feed Foot, sometimes called a Walking Foot, is used for sewing several layers of fabric, and is a must-have when quilting and when working with leather or vinyl. The Even Feed Foot is also great for matching plaids or stripes and sewing fabrics with nap or pile (like velvets), to keep them from shifting. It has its own set of feed dogs that work in on the upper layers of fabric in conjunction with the sewing machine's feeding system.

Very disappointed in this product. The lever sticks in the up position and I am forced to tie it to the foot as was suggested by many others who have had the same problem. This seems to be an issue with this product. Why Singer changed from the fork type I will never know. Is the only fix really having to tie it on? I can't recommend this foot until there is a design change. It wasn't cheap and its had very little use and now it is sitting on my shelf collecting dust

I love the walking foot. It evenly feeds my fabrics from the top and bottom - keeps the fabrics from shifting during sewing. It can be difficult to get thick fabrics under the foot. It could be my machine or my lack of knowledge on how to adjust my machine to compensate for the foot.

New design is terrible. After one hour of use, the spring began to stick and not drop the arm back down to move the feet which caused the fabric to shift and not lay flat. Old design was much better.

Although the presser foot arrived just fine, it came w/out directions to install: what a nightmare to figure this out. Plus it is Very Difficult to get hold of a real person at Singer's home office.
