Maple Mate Bed,shaker Collection

Overall the bed box is nice and was easy to put together. The only thing that is a concern is the drawers. The bottom of the drawer is a thin piece of cardboard. This limits what the drawers can be used for or the amount of clothing for the storage.

All I can say about this bed is that it is a necessity for children. Its very sturdy and has great storage. It looks absolutely stunning in my daughters room!!!

We shopped around furniture stores for our 3 Year old son's first bedroom set. After doing our comparison's, we decided to go with a less expensive option. We decided to spend more on the actual mattress and the decor for the room. Walmart's Site to Store option is great for saving on shipping. I found the same/similar set at Target but we would have had to pay shipping. We purchased the bed, headboard, dresser, and nightstand. My husband put it together with no issues. I like the Captains bed with the drawers for extra storage. You also don't have to buy a boxspring. The set looks sharp decorated in Thomas the Train and I don't think most people could tell we paid $600 for the set rather than thousands!

I like the way this bed looks but the drawers are very cheaply made. Instead of metal sliders on the sides they are plastic. This definitely is NOT furniture for teenagers or anyone older. The bottom of the drawers are plastic. Not very sturdy at all. Luckily my child is only two so his clothes are not bulky and heavy. I don't see this lasting for more than a few years. I would not reccomend this. You get what you pay for and I wish I would have spent more money and gotten good furniture.

Likes: Easy to put together (with help carrying - it's heavy!), sturdy, great for my daughter, not too high off the floor, three drawers make storing things easy, connects very easily to the headboard but could stand alone also. Dislikes: cracked face panel to drawer, drawers are NOT reinforced, are not fully locked into the side grooves, heavy, the boards that go across the top underneath the mattress are only fibreboard so they could be sturdier, but it can still hold an adult and child with no issues. Overall, it looks lovely, matches up okay with the walmart dresser we have in maple, and looks great in the room. It's also sturdy enough for our three kids to jump on (ask me how I know..).
