So, first of all—I've really been enjoying these products. Especially the taming cream which I've even been using on my own hair. They both smell great, and they really do what they claim to—they tame the frizz and make our hair more manageable, even with a variety of textures from thick/coarse and wavy to fine/soft and straight. I do dilute them a bit for my 2-year-old as she doesn't have a whole lot of hair yet so it's easy to over-apply. A little goes a long way! I love that they are paraben, phthalate, and silicone-free, and again (I cannot overstate this) they smell amazing. My favorite product is definitely the taming cream. It is silky smooth and doesn't weigh down our hair at all (and have I mentioned the smell??!). The set as a whole comes in a cute package (my daughter loved the lion toy) and *visually* the products are very well-done. I love the clean branding. The packaging is cute enough that it would look great with just a bow or in a gift basket. My only qualms are with the palm brush and the spray bottle used for the taming mist. The palm brush is difficult to use without any sort of grip on the edges, so I wasn't able to actually use it without it going flying out of my hands. And the fingertip sprayer on the taming mist is difficult to press down while the bottle is shaped as such that when I do press on it, the whole bottle just slides down through my hand. I had to place the bottle flat onto the counter so that I could spray the product into my hand, then apply it to my kid's hair with my fingers. Obviously this is an inconvenience—but the product itself does work well even if the packaging could be better. If I could review them separately, I would absolutely give 5 stars for the products and 3 for the packaging, but alas... I think a trigger style spray bottle would be much more ergonomic and easy to use. Overall I think this is a great product line and I think it'd make a great gift set for anyone with kiddos. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review.
We received this T is for Tame Taming Kit as part of the Stellar Product Review Panel and I LOVED it. It was packaged in a very cute box, and would make a great baby shower gift or little gift set for a kid aged 1-5 who is having trouble with getting their hair brushed. Most importantly, the detangling cream smells AMAZING. Like, I use it on my one year old and then rub the leftover in my own hair, smell his head for two days, so good. Not too babyish but not overly perfumed. The spray is a nice size so it isn't awkward to hold or spray with wet hands post bath. The brush is good on thinner hair (work great for the baby) but my five year old son's long thick curls are a little harder to get through without a handle and some leverage. A friend of mine uses the same brush for her daughters long hair after the pool and she says it works well for brushing out long ends. Monkey was cute and is still in the five year old's bed. Overall I would definitely purchase the set for a friend and I will for sure rebuy the cream when I run out! A tiny bit goes a long way and the curls are defined but not greasy the next day (still wet out of the bath in the picture)
My 5yr old despises detangling/brushing her curls but the first time I tried the brush she instantly commented that she loved it because it didn't hurt her hair! I own several detangling brushes but this has to be her favorite. It detangles well with minimal pulling. It worked well on my 1yr old son as well. The taming mist provided great moisture and worked really well on damp hair to give curls a boost. On dry hair it did not refresh the curls much but still provided moisture. Both of my kids hair tends to be on the dry side so I sprayed a little too much the first time and ended up making their curls heavy and dull. Less is definitely more to start. The taming cream worked well especially for ponytails and keeping the ends of the hair from becoming frizzy. This product was heavier and thicker and did a nice job smoothing flyaways. I was given this kid's haircare product to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I have to say it is definitely a winner!
I was skeptical these taming products would do much since her hair is SO fine, but I was very pleasantly surprised! They're not heavy at all and make her hair feel soft and look shiny. I like to wet her hair a bit before adding the detangling spray and then I comb it through and scrunch to encourage her waves. I find it also has a small amount of hold which is nice for her hair. I like to put the cream in when her hair is wet after a bath for some extra moisture and detangling, but it's also really great at smoothing down fly-a-ways when her hair is pulled back. As a bonus, she loved the monkey that came with this kit! I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review.
I received the T is For Tame Taming Kit With Plush Monkey from stellar product testing. My first thought was the packaging was SO cute and would make a great baby shower gift! I received the package the day I needed to take my kiddos passport picture and her hair was in need of taming. It worked great. The detangling brush wasn't the best with my oldest kids curls but works well on my babies hair. I love that the ingredients used are so moisturizing for my kiddos hair. And the spray bottle makes it very convenient for before school hair fixing :)
