Not usa 6 yr mfg warranty a025 s/n model its import...its not as ad on walmart
I just started using the lens, have to learn some ins and outs yet about sports shots and focus, but the still shots I have taken for senior photos have great bokeh and clear crisp results.
I was very excited to find this Tamron lens for my Canon camera at Walmart for approximately $300 less than other sellers. All the reviews I had read about this lens indicated it to be a quality product. I am a frequent Walmart shopper and have always been pleased with product pricing and quality, however, this was the first time I had purchased a product through a Walmart Marketplace Vendor. In reading about this type of vendor I saw the following statement from Walmart: “We are looking for relationships with reputable retailers and brands that provide first-class customer service, a compelling product assortment, competitive pricing and fast, reliable fulfillment.” Having read that and with my past experiences at Walmart, I confidently placed my order. It was only after my Tamron lens arrived that I started to have my doubts. First, the lens arrived double boxed, and not as carefully as I might have packed it. I also noticed that the lens was not in an official Tamron box. Lastly, I noticed that there was no warranty information included—the lens usually comes with a 6 year warranty. These observations began to raise red flags. Nowhere in the online description of this product did I read that it was “refurbished”, “unboxed”, or sold without warranty. Still confident in Walmart and its Markeplace sellers, I was excited to try the lens. This was my next disappointment. The autofocus on the lens functioned erratically and inconsistently. At times I was able to focus through the viewfinder but at other times only through the LED screen. This was not acceptable! Sadly, I made the decision to return the lens (packaged more securely than how I received it!) and I am presently awaiting a full refund. Having read very negative online reviews of this particular Marketplace seller, I have to say I am hoping for the best. I may be naive (I am approaching 74 years of age) but I was raised to trust another's given word. Walmart, I hope I can continue to trust you!
Biggest bonus is getting the tap in kit! Other accessories were put in the trash... if you're buying semi-premiere quality lenses like this, you will likely not be using ultra low-end accessories. Lenses have been reviewed to death online and are 10/10.
This is my second lens from Tamron. I have purchased Tamron 24-70mm G2 lens from BuyDig.com and impressed with the build quality and amazing photos from that lens. Without any hesitation, I have ordered Tamron 70-200mm G2 lens from BuyDig.com. This is much better build quality than branded lens which are double the price of Tamron. Out of the box, I got better quality photos. However, I have done lens calibration using Tap In console. After the calibration, the photos came out crisp and super sharp. Tamron G2 lenses exceeded my expectation. With student EDU discount from Tamron, the price is outstanding deal. I am going to buy Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens to complete the G2 collection:) #sweepstakes
