The price was good after a 63% markdown. I ordered it based on the favorable review ratings at Walmart.com. However to me the scale feels a lacking of substantiality when you step on it, like it's a little flimsy. It's also kind of small. I have men's size 9 feet and my feet almost fill the length of the scale. I can see a person with larger feet would have trouble standing on the scale. Otherwise the scale works fine. I like that it's operated on lithium battery and not on solar or light power.
It doesn't work. The weight was approximately six pounds off what the doctor's scale said on same day. Yesterday I got on four times, one after the other, allowing the several seconds between as required. It gave me four different weights. I would request a return but apparently it is too late. My fault. I just didn't get around to checking on the return date limit.
Works very Well--Readout shows clearly-Requires removal of Plastic insulation tab in battery compartment for electrical disc battery contact, Also use of Scale requires placement on hard surface--If used on Carpeted surface-Display will work but give false reading.
After struggling with this Taylor scale for five months now (should have returned it immediately), I'm finally giving up, and I'm going to save you a lot of time. As soon as your Taylor scale arrives, remove the battery. Now, put it with your other batteries and dispose of the scale. There, you have a brand-new, 3V lithium battery, and that's as much as you're going to get from this. Taylor used to make good products, but this is a piece of junk. It looks good, but it's all plastic and is so lightweight that it tips easily, pretty much every time you get on or off the scale. That said, every time a side of it tips and then resettles on the floor, even the slightest of impact will cause it to malfunction to where the scale needs to be RESET. For this task, which you will do frequently, a RESET button would have been nice, but there is none. Instead, you must turn the scale upside down, remove a retaining screw, remove a snap-on cover, remove the battery; then reinsert the battery, replace the cover, and replace the screw that locks it down. If you feel you MUST torture yourself by trying to make this thing work for you, I recommend leaving the screw out altogether, as it will save you some time ongoing. Its accuracy is questionable, but it seems to be within something less than a pound difference between stepping on the scale once and then immediately stepping on it again. During all the times I tried to use it/check it, it rarely gave me the same reading twice. Stepping onto the scale in exactly the same way, with your weight then distributed on your feet in exactly the same way, is also critical. So, good luck with it, and I hope you enjoy your new battery!
works OK (hey don't all of the scales lie ??), registers quickly. smaller than some easier to store, very light weight plastic makes me wonder how it will hold up for some of the bigger people although it says up to 350 lbs. For the price if it lasts a couple years it will be worthwhile.
