Turtle Beach - Recon 500 Wired Gaming Headset for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PS5, PlayStation 4, PS4, Nintendo Switch - Black

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got these headphones to enjoy my gaming experience just a little bit more, but unfortunately, they were very underwhelming. First, they were big enough to fit my head comfortably, however, my husband (who is a BIG gamer) was not able to wear them at all because of the size/shape of his head. He has a wide dome head, and no hair, and was not able to wear this at all. The sound quality in the headphones was good, however nothing exceptional, nothing to make this stand out at all. It really didn't have any noise cancelling properties (that was not advertised with this, so I don't fault them for that, however, I could still hear my kids through the headphones even though they were being quiet) and I could hear everything outside them fine. The mic was actually detachable which was different, but it was cool. It worked fine as well, people were able to hear me clearly with not a ton of background noise. It uses a standard headphone plug in, so it can be used with a ton of different devices if it needed to. These headphones weren't bad, by any means. They worked great and I had no issues with them. However, there's not really anything that makes this headset stand out or sets it apart from other generic headphones in my opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually use a wireless headset so when it dies I can easily plug in my turtle beach recon 500 headset into my controller since it is not wireless. Super easy to use, the sound quality come through very nice and clear! Easy to use the volume and mic buttons on the headpiece, and it's a very comfortable headset as well! Love the design of these, it looks good!

The sound quality is great and I enjoyed the volume control on the left which makes it easy to find and super convenient. The best feature for me is that there is a mute mic button on the left, this is a feature that other brands don't have in my experience. I would definitely recommend these to all gamers.

Headset is comfy enough to wear for hours on end, and filters out a surprising amount of noise by having soft but dense foam in the over the ears pieces. Microphone audio is crystal clear.

I personally thought the audio quality was great, as I was using them to listen to music, and my son had nothing but rave reviews when using them to play video games. They're also very comfortable. I was able to wear them for hours at a time without my ears or the top of my head hurting.
