I'll be honest with you: for such an inexpensive piece of furniture, I didn't expect this to be top-of-the line material, but that didn't mean it wouldn't stay together and function properly. But I must say, this is probably the worst I have seen in quality in all of the low-cost pieces I've ever bought. First off, the packaging was subpar. There was dust and styrofoam in pieces everywhere, forcing me to thoroughly clean every piece of wood before even putting it together. Secondly, there were very few pieces that did not arrive dented. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to unbuild, return, and rebuild the piece, but I was considering it. Luckily, the dents turned out to be hidden based on my setup- on the underside or backside, so they are not that noticeable. You could see that the particle board was barely being held together- the "particles" weren't small enough. So pieces would fall out, and even one of the dowels smashed right through wood. (luckily, not a load bearing dowel). The instructions were visual- no text. And the visuals were not very clear. There were no letters marking the wood to even tell me which piece was which. I had to basically match the wood to the picture as a best guess. No markings to tell which direction was forward either, which turned out to be necessary. Despite my initial few hours of building, after those, I'll admit, the tv stand looks really really nice. You probably couldn't tell the difference between this and a $400 piece. The drawers function well. Some people would complain that the drawers don't go all the way back- there is actually a small enclave on the backside that makes the drawers smaller in depth. But I actually don't mind, as I don't store many things in the drawer, and the enclave makes a convenient place for cable clutter, and other components to make the setup look particularly clean. So I see this small enclave as a plus. The TV is the perfect length for my 46" LCD TV. There's about 1" of extra length on either side of the TV. The Open shelves store my (probably unusually small) home theater equipment fine. Overall, I would say that if you can get through the building phase unscathed, then this piece functions and looks really, really good. People are always suprised that I tell them this is a $100 stand. But what they don't see are the dents, really bad particle board, and pieces chipped off.
TV stand is beautiful. Assembly is not easy. None of the pieces werre labeled making directions very confusing. I would not have been able to put TV stand together w/out help. Also the 4 silver pegs that go on the bottom of the stand look great in the picture, and appear to be metallic. They are actually rubber and look cheap compared to the great stand above it.
I have a 42" TV, it just fit in this TV stand and it looks great, it fits my Cable reciever, Surround System, and my DVDs. I totally recommend this product.
I bought two of these TV Stands (through Site-to-Store) to house our two flat-panel televisions. They are just beautiful! Clean lines and a wonderful deep dark chocolate/espresso brown color. Pretty easy to put together. Took about 1.5 hours to put both together. The Site-to-Store option saved me $100 in shipping!! Well worth it!
This is an inexpensive piece, but even if it is inexpensive I expect it to come in one piece. There was minor damage to a few pieces that would not be noticeable once constructed, but it easily chips during construction.
