I ourchased this item on 3/15 and received it after a could days. today is 3/28 and already the water tastes actually terrible and have a reading of 705! Doubling what my tap water reading is. Mind you, I only use this zero water to make my coffee. Definitely not purchasing anymore from zero water and do not recommend.
The pitcher size is good and exactly what I was looking for, water tastes great, however I keep getting mold growing in the upper compartment. It's a poor design with several protruding plastic pieces on the inside where the top attaches, this is where mold keep growing making it hard to reach and scrub clean. Very frustrating, would also appreciate a glass pitcher version, so water doesn't have to sit in plastic so long.
I do really like this. I wish it held just a little more water and the top didn't lift when you pour water. Put scotch tape to hold it. I wish they just made the size and quality that they did in the past for a similar size. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
This is the second time I've tried this water filter. The first being about 5 years ago in another location with apparently not as lousy water quality as where I'm at now. In both cases the water tasted ok after the first few uses and then for whatever reason the filtered water becomes increasingly sour tasting to the point of being undrinkable well before the advertised average filter life is reached. I understand that water quality varies greatly from place to place, but twice now with the very same issues with at least three different water sources is a bit too much. I've gone so far as to bring this current filter to a friend's house where their water quality is quite good with the exception of the chlorine and floride added to their city water which is something we can all do without and the very same issue arises with the water tasting sour even after a few times of use with the different water source. The replacement filter costs are astronomical and I definitely find it more cost effective for me to just keep on purchasing bottled water instead. Unfortunately this device is being returned for the second and last time.
