I bought this for my soon to be daughter in law and it was her favorite gift!!! She loves it! It's beautiful. Even the man at the site to store pick up said he didn't need a tea kettle, but seeing it made him want to buy one.
On a gas stove, particularly, the handle does get hot.....wish it could have been a different material that doesn't radiate heat but it wouldn't have been as pretty. Mine stays on top of my stove as an accent piece.
This tea kettle is very stylish. Looks great on my stove and holds a good amount of water. The only drawback is the handle gets very hot and the lid does not snap into the kettle. In my opinion, the handle should have been wrapped with a heat resistant material allowing more ease of use. As it is now, you need 2 pot holders when using. One for the handles and the other to hold the lid in place while pouring.
This tea kettle is very big and very beautiful. Looks so great on top of my stove. And is bigger than the cheaper plain tea kettles available. But, I have to agree with the majority that the handle while stylish, is not functionable. It will get hot. Wish it had been made with a heat-proof handle. But I will continue using it, as I have remodeled my kitchen to go with all the Pioneer Woman dishes and accessories.
This tea kettle is very pretty but that's the only thing going for it - that's why it got 3 stars! The biggest problem is that the lid doesn't fit tightly - if you aren't careful it will fall off and you will have hot water everywhere. The metal handle does get a little warm. And it doesn't whistle. I should have read the reviews before purchasing. I'm keeping it just because it's so bright and I love the flowers! It's now a centerpiece and I went back to using my old whistling stainless tea kettle.
I so wanted to have this tea kettle. Mine leaked. Also, did not like that the lid was not tight fitted. Maybe they aren't all defective
when the 2 arrived they both had scratches and one had a crack this was not done by shipping but from the factory the shipping wrapping and the box they were in had no damage
The boiling water was of a brownish color and for the life of me I could not figure out why, until I uncovered the kettle, only to find that it was rusting. This kettle is of no use to me anymore. No one wants to drink rusty water.
Was initally vwry happy with this keytle; but, after normal use, the bottom of the tea kettle started peeling. I noticed black pieces falling into my teapot while pouring heated water to brew tea. Very disapponted in the quality.
This teapot is beautiful, however, this morning, I was pouring boiling water and the lid popped off splashing water and steam all over me. Now I have 2nd degree steam burns on my hand. It leaks steam normally but the lid popping off was the last straw. This teapot needs some serious engineering overhauls. Good thing walmart also sells dermablast and gauze
