First off - I read tons of reviews on everything, and was worried that this product image did not match the description. But this price was amazing for a name brand, I paid $25 when others had this for $30-40 as well as different styles, but all in the 30 inch high range. IMAGE SHOULD SHOW the top pole that connects to the lower one (shown connected to the tank). The Top Pole is just a straight piece of the same tubing that makes up the lower, but is merely a female end to connect to the lower pole, and a male end at the top (for, say, a lantern). All of those smaller connections come with removable plastic caps, great for storage! Also, each connection CANNOT leak gas when no items connected. Imagine the image as a propane tank that is on, and those ends are sealed until connected to an item - just note, as read in the manual: do not turn the tank on until pole is fully assembled and all desired accessories attached. Also, turn off tank and turn on accessories to bleed out gas still in the pole/lines before detaching pole from tank! Common sense, but new users should take note of this. ALSO - NEW USERS: I've been around and used these things my whole life, but never owned one... Got a new camp stove, a coleman gas lantern, and new tank. The stove has it's own regulator, with that same large black female connector designed for a propane tank - NOT designed for those small accessory connectors on the pole!! As this pole takes up the only large male connection, you may need to buy an adapter depending on the size of the accessory connectors you wish to attach. I didn't, and had to postpone my vacation over a week for the adapter to arrive at WalMart once I realized I had to order another part.
We use it for camping in our motorhome to connect our outdoor grill, cook stove, and lantern without having to use all of those little green tanks! Works great!!
I had one of these 20 years ago and it was great then. With the addition of having it in two pieces is great (stores easier) and the bolt attachment makes it much easier. Now I can run a propane stove, lantern , and one other item all at the same time.
Nice for up to 3 appliances. Unused ports have check-valve, so don't have to have in use. Could use a carry/storage bag made of vinyl or similar material.
Got this for camping to run my propane stove, bbq and lantern all at once off a large 20lb tank. It was $10 cheaper than Amazon.com, it arrived as planned and I was notified when it was ready for pick up at my local store. Item came with handy cap covers to keep dirt out of threaded connections, breaks down into 2 pieces for easy storage/transport and the wing nut stabilizer bolts worked great. Not for backpack camping but perfect for the average car camper, RVer or any outdoor enthusiast.
I've owned the other name brand version of this and find this one to be better. Not only is the price substantially less than the other - the way it attaches and rests on the tank for support is more sturdy than the name brand competitor I used to own. In fact, the whole thing is more solid and better laid out with the accessory ports. It even comes with attached dust caps to cork the unused holes and keep stuff out. Very pleased.
We bought this.item as.we.are caterers and use camping stoves and a grill but didnt want to.take several small propanes with us every time. We Saw This Item On The Walmart Website And.decided To Tryitwe Love This item It Serves the purpose and Works Great.
Inexpensive and well designed product that extends the capabilities of your 20# propane tank. Great for camping/hunting and outdoor use.
Works well. May not sit perfectly vertical on many tanks. Had some trouble seating the connector into the tank but it may have been the tank valve sticking.
Bought this tree based on price. Wrong choice ! Went camping , and once out in woods in Oregon found out it's not like the Coleman ones . Had to drive 40 miles back to a hardware store to buy a fitting for one of the 3 posts so the stove could be used ( large connection to small threads on tree. So buying a $26 one cost an additional $18 just to cook and use lantern. Not noted on box that additional parts were needed for use of grill.
