I have a small home business and this machine is so amazing. It cuts my sewing time in more than half. It is amazing and for the first serger I purchased I am extremely happy with it.
As I am a costume maker (ladies dresses) ...it is exactly what I needed.
Have an old Singer Serger, at least 25 yrs old. Although it was a workhorse you better not run out of thread or need to change colors and tension, that's a whole 'nother issue. The main plus of this new Serger is it's easy to change thread and the stitches are beautiful and uniform. It's so easy to use I find myself serging everything. Whst a difference!
Love it!! Came threaded. Easy to use right of the box. Simple and easy to understand instructions. Had never used one before and Within 20 minutes felt like a pro. Cut my sewing time in half compared to just a standard sewing machine with more professional results.
PATIENCE is the key to learning to use the serger. It's a dificult machine, in that, it is hard to thread the loopers and determine the problem when it doesn't sew properly but once you learn to use it, it is a wonderful and very useful machine to have.
So far, so good. I got this serger because my Janome serger stop working properly and couldn't afford to keep putting it in the repair shop. So when I seen a blogger suggest this one I looked into it and Walmart had it at a price I could afford. After saving up for it I got it and added it to my Singer family.
I really haven't used it much, was told I got a free class on how to use but when I asked the lady just said come by on a Sunday and I can show you a few thing. There was no class, she could show me while she work the sewing machine area. Figured I could go on online and do that! Was disappointed there wasn't a class.
It is very difficult to thread if you are left handed..I returned it to the store within 10 days. I spent too much time threading it even with the help of a sewing teacher. She was able to do it because she is right handed but for me it's too difficult.☹️
Horrible! I think it's a knock-off.. lower looper dial doesn't work. To get the 2 loopers to even remotely meet together at the edge of the fabric, upper looper has to be on 7 and lower on a 2.. that's just crazy and even then they won't meet together at the edge. The dial seem loose compared to the other dials. Like it isn't clicking into gear so to speak. That's just 1 issue.. there are many! As for the book on this machine, doesn't even look like it's the original book. The pictures are so black, you can't even see what they're pointing to. Words are missed spelled and broken English.. The cone spool holders are weird. I've have brother and singers and never seen cone holders like these nd they don't even fit the spools properly... I am beyond frustrated! If you have this machine and like it, you got lucky bc the issues I'm having aren't just preference type stuff. It's stuff that totally ruins your sewing
This machine is very difficult to thread and keep threaded. You get what you pay for. My other sergers have been more expensive and much easier to thread and use. Better quality. Anyone with Arthritis or digit issues will have a VERY difficult time threading.I am an expert seamstress, have used professional/factory machines. This is the last Singer I will ever purchase. Sad how far they have fallen.
