EVER SINCE I HAD TO USE AN ELECTRIC RAZOR BECAUSE I AM ON A BLOOD THINNER MEDICATION I HAVE TRIED OTHER RAZORS AND THEY WERE SLUGGISH AND NOT HALF AS EFFECTIVE AS MY NEW REMINGTON R2 MICRO FLEX FOR ONLY UNDER 25 DOLLARS AT WALGREENS THANKS REMINGTON FOR AN AFFORDABLE GREAT SHAVE I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN ON A FIXED INCOME AND DO APPRECIATE THIS PRODUCT THOMAS GUARIANO [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Always rinse the head after each use. Remove the three blades and clean them by putting a little polish on a mirror and pressing the rotary blades flat against the mirror with the polish cleaning them.
I bought it just because it is corded. I put it in storage for the day when I cannot buy a corded shaver anymore.
Always run norelco and have not been satisfied with last two they did a terrible shave job. Been using my corded Remington for over a month and absolutely love it. I hate the rechargeable kind and really love the corded type. I couldn't be happier thanks Remington.
I always used Norelco shavers and liked the rotary head feature and was looking for a replacement corded model with a trimmer. I did not find any available. I have owned non rotary Remington shavers in the past and decided to try a corded rotary Remington with a trimmer. It did not need any break in and shaved smooth right out of the box and cost less to boot. Now the only test is how long it will last.
In over 40 years of shaving I never had or tried an electric shaver. I have almost always used the disposable 2 and 3 blade razors even though they can irritate my face and neck. Throughout the years of seeing ads and commercials for electric shavers I always wondered if I would like one. I finally decided to try one and went with a brand I recognized as the leader in electric shavers, Remington. Not knowing if I would like one I looked for an inexpensive model. The R2-405 is corded only which is exactly what I wanted and has a lot of the same features of the more expensive models. I have used it for just about 2 weeks now, and although it doesn't shave as close as a razor blade, it's more than adequate and no more irritated skin. Glad I bought it, would buy it again and would recommend this product as a good value.
Plastic cover for rotary blades is too sharp . 2. Motor speed is slower than old models.
I bought the Remington R2 to replace my aging, but higher featured, Norelco shaver. While the Norelco is comfortable with more swivels and tilts, the Remington gets the job done much quicker! Corded operation is no drawback to me vs. cordless because I get consistent power every time without the need to ever charge the unit. In fact, because my Norelco Cordless Unit's charge lasted for a short period of time, I wound up using it [Plugged-In] to avoid the hassle of losing power while shaving or having to go through the re-charging regimen. The Remington R2 is still new, but hopefully, will continue to work acceptably well for a good time longer.
Through the years I have used a number of electric shavers, including Norelco and Remington brands. My most recent purchase of a higher priced Norelco was very disappointing because the blades became very dull in a relatively short period of time. Since replacement blades for the Norelco are almost as much as the cost of this new Remington shaver, I decided to try the Remington. So far, my experience has been good. While it does not glide over my face as smoothly as the Norelco, it shaves just as close. I would advise anyone purchasing this shaver not to allow too much time between shaves, however. It does fine on a day's growth, but much more than that results is some pulling of the whiskers, which is uncomfortable. I would gauge my beard to be moderate, for those who need some comparison to gauge a purchase by--ie, not heavy or thick. Overall, I am very satisfied.
Bought this electric shaver as a replacement to a Norelco that I had owned for years. A coiled cord would be much better than the one provided. Shaver intermittently quits while shaving and all of the heads will often shake loose. VERY disappointed with the lack of quality.
