I am thrilled to be using my garden center. I now have a work area storage area and outdoor sink. I think this product should be carried in Wal-Mart stores, rather than just online. It is somewhat difficult to put together as there are many pieces and pages of instructions. Overall, Great Product!
Great product easy to put together, arrived fast. It was missing one piece but went to home depot and got something to substitute
Easy to put together folowing instructions. Axle was too long, but nothing a hacksaw didnt fix. This is the second Backyard Gear Product I have owned.
This garden ccenter is what my wife wanted. It has a lot of parts to put together, some with missing connecting holes. It took me about 2 days to put it together. Overall the instructions are good to follow but the assembly of the water sink, and connecting hoses miss clarity and almost impossible to fit without some modification. Upon final assebly of the center the faucet liqued a lot.
My product arrived as expected and ready to assemble. Once we opened the box, be prepared for lots of pieces - it wasn't hard to assemble, just time consuming and be careful if you choose to use a power screwdriver - you can break things (like a handle....!) if it gets screwed in too tight. Hand assembly is tough as well, so just be prepared. Also, the axle for the wheels was 5 inches too long - obviously had an incorrect part. So I attempted to contact the manufacturer...via phone and email. No email reply and all 3 phone #'s are disconnected or no longer in service (!) So I contacted Wal-Mart to see what my options were - they offered several; call the company and request a new part (uh, tried that already), they could contact the company and try to get me a part-but could take up to 14 days OR they could give me a price adjustment and I could find something to work locally. I took option 3, and my husband sawed off the extra 5 inches. Works great after that! So, just beware that the production company may not be around for parts, but Wal-Mart made it right. Works great to wash off dirt when I'm out in the backyard - off hands, veggies, tools. And has nice storage as well.
Instructions were very difficult to follow, and required 2-3 hours to assemble. The sink is a joke, all the items are plastic, and the drain line fitting was broken, as discovered during opening. I purchase many items from Walmart.com, and this is the first item that I have purchased, that was a major disappointment.
Received the GC-100 Garden Center from Wal-Mart very quickly. While assembling it, I found that the water connection to the sink was broken. 4 e-mails and 3 phone calls to the company got me a promise to ship a replacement. Still waiting after 3 weeks.
parts broken - unable to reach manufacture to resolve - telephone line was always busy or there was no answer. BB gives a poor rating of the company.
In essence, this product is a great idea if it worked properly. It was very time consuming to put together and of course being plastic, all the holes did not line up perfectly. Using a power screwdriver speeds up the process (in lieu of the small allen wrench provided). Once assembled, I hooked the input hose and output hose to the sink connections. The input hose leaked as the hose clamp was loose so I tightened it up and turned the water back on. The whole plastic fitting blew apart. As I have 2 other Backyard Gear sinks and know to use very low water pressure, this was not expected. When I contact the company all they can send me is a complete sink assembly. They cannot supply just the broken fitting(s)! It is more trouble than it is worth. Two of the three sinks have been out of commission for several months due to this very problem with the fitting breaking. I can't find this fitting anywhere...tried Home Depot, Lowes, internet...very frustrating. Don't want to return the sink as it is attached to the side of my brick house! That's why I tried the barbeque center. I did not expect the same thing to happen. Obviously, this is a poor design issue that the company is aware of as they are always willing to send a whole new sink at N/C.
The parts included were not correct to put the garden sink together. I also had to drill the correct hole to insert the wheels because2 of the 3 predrilled holes did not line up. I did not expect an outdoor kitchen but I expected the piece to be able to be assembled properly!
