Ive had this radar detector since February of 2010 , it is now 6/24/14 , and has just now decided to stop detecting . I have not gotten a ticket yet because of this wonderful detector , knock on wood. I would highly recomend this product , idk what ppl are talking about bc i always would see the radar go off a mile before seeing the police car, so i believe the range was perfect. Sad they discontinued this model ....

this is my second cobra, same model as the first, which i owned for years. it works great. the range is fine and it never fails to alert. in the past, i've owned two top of the line escort detectors, which didn't detect radar any better than this cheap cobra. you can pay a whole lot more for just a little bit better, but after owning the best and cheapest i can honestly say there's no need to spend more. i was compelled to fill out this review after reading the other reviews that i know firsthand are not what i've experienced.
It is a great item for a inexpensive price. It is a good device. Recommend for everyone. Does exactly what it said it was going to do. Has great power on sound and can pick up a cop car almost a mile to a have a mile away (close to 2 miles). Two thumbs up!!!!
The Cobra ESD 767 Radar Detector I purchased is working great. The windshield bracket and suction cups once applied are holding the unite in place without falling off the winshield and having to be re-applied. Easy read out and alarm system.
Good product better than not having anything. Has saved me a few times, But has false alarms . I think it alerts you when other vehicles have a radar detector also.
so far it has done what it says it will do. I would of preferred for it to have a longer range but for the price its ok.
I bought the 767 for my drive from NY to Florida this December. My previous detector was a Whistler with excellent range and sensitivity which listed for $ 200. This $ 39 model gives you a false sense of security and you WILL get a speeding ticket. It only went off 2x set at highway sensitivity. Once for X band and the second time for Lidar but only after I saw the Police car 3 blocks ahead. I passed many police cars on both sides of I-95 and the detector never went off. There were some false alarms on X band. In summary buy a better quality more expensive detector from a major manufacturer. This model is a waste and you will get a speeding ticket. The range is poor with almost no warning until the police car is sighted in which case you're caught.
I had a Whistler for many years and was very happy. I bought this Cobra at my local store thinking it would be good since it was a name brand (they only had Cobra's at my local store). The first day I plugged it in and drove to work, it beeped the entire way there and back home. I tried for a couple of days but finally got tired of it... took it back to Walmart. Don't waste your time...
