I purchased this knife after reading many great reviews. They are all correct. If you want a nice basic knife GET THIS KNIFE. That is all.

Great knife! Has a slim profile that fits great in the pocket. The spring assistance works stiff at first but loosens up nicely after some use. Best pocket knife I have carried in the last couple years. I would deffinitely reccommend to a friend!
Love Gerber, Love this knife! Got quick from walmart! Walmart's price was great also! Could be a little more factory sharp but thats what sharpeners are for!

Bought this knife for a backpacking trip a number of years ago and I've carried it everyday since. Its still as good today as it was when I first bought it. Its been used for just about everything you can imagine, not to mention dropped in sand, dirt, mud, etc. I'll put it through the dishwasher every now and then, add a drop of oil, and its good to go. Great bang for the buck.
Perfect product to have in your pocket at all times i've had one before, and this one is just as good. locks shut so it won't open up when ya don't want it to. just a great knife..
I had this knife for a few years and I am sad to say that I have lost it so now I need to buy a new one! But because of Walmart's great prices, I am definitely going to go there. This knife is affordable, flashy in that it is spring loaded and opens almost scarily fast, and very light and useful. I have not gone on a camping trip without this knife!
I bought this knife less than a year ago because I flew to meet my family on vacation. Since you can't carry a knife on planes I left my other Gerber at home and felt naked without it. I found this one and it was nice. Light weight, mechanical assist, 3 in blade and fit in the pocket very nicely. I started carrying this one as my primary knife. The BAD news is that it broke on me when I pulled it out to cut some tape. The mechanical assist mechanism sprung the blade open and I heard a very bad noise. Now it's broke and the blade doesn't stay open. I don't have a receipt so I can't take it back. It's a shame too because I know that Gerber makes a quality product and I really think this is a fluke, maybe made on a Friday or Monday, I don't know. I would buy another one just to see if it will last longer than a year. Other people in their reviews seem to have better luck with theirs and love them. Like I said it's a Gerber and they usually make good products. This one could be a lemon. Regardless, I still think highly of Gerber products.
I purchased this knife and the Aluminum Presto 3.0 from walmart as extra camping knives. However after carring for few days I noticed the screws on the handles were backing out. The handles had almost fallen off. My second complaint with these knives is that saftey and release is very rough and does not always work like it should. I bought these because of there good price and NAME GERBER, however I can not recommend this for anyone.
