My Homeowners Insurance replace my old Compactor with a GE Compactor. I have only been using it for a week. It looks great. I like how the bags has holes to put on to the hooks that are on the side of the Compactor so that the bags don't fall down into the bin
Love the compactor (have had a trash compactor for over 30 years....this is my 3rd one. The ONLY thing that disappointed me was I could not get one in the Slate finish to match all my other new appliances! GE's new Slate is gorgeous, but I had to either get the Stainless Steel or black compactor. I got black since it's next to my range, which has the black cooktop and dark window in the door. It's not too bad, but it would have been much nicer to get a matching compactor in Slate!
I had one that in our house that I bought a couple of yeas ago. I got another for our house at the beach. No more take out the trash every couple of days.
I have been very happy with our new compactor. I was keeping my old one on hand in case I needed to go back. Definitely do not need to keep the old one - very happy with the new compactor. Very easy to open & compact. Like all features - Very Happy
Very happy with this compactor. The style, with the large handle, really looks sleek. The toe operation is amazing, don't know why anyone would buy a compactor without this feature. Can't say anything negative about this product.
This compactor replaced the same model that's been in this home more than 18 years. We've had no issues with it and it's much quieter than the one it replaced. I wish it were slightly quieter, but it is not disturbing as is.
Replaced an old one that was 14 years old. This one the door is not level it leans to the right when it closes. It needs to be balanced or reset as it doesn't close straight. Going to call customer service to have that fixed. I bought the extended warranty for this product. I do like that the on/off switch is located inside, and that you left up the foot switch and it turns on, with no controls in the front it looks sleek.
Poor reliability this is the 2nd unit in 3yrs. Repair cost always come close to purchase price. Cannot place too much in drawer for fear of jam. Convenient when operable . Appearance is good.
I had another model just like this until it quit working. I got another one just like it because I use it only for soda cans. I wish it compacted more than it does.
We purchased this compactor to replace our old GE compactor which failed after 30 years! This one stopped working after 10 months. It was a disappointment even when it worked as it clunked loudly every time you closed the door - not a smooth an easy necessary function. It also did not compact as well as our old one.
