[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a cosmetologist and very picky! I've always had the notion that store purchased irons weren't as affective as professional ones. Conair Double Ceramic Curling Iron proved me wrong. I have extremely thick, kinky hair and this curling iron had no problem tackling it! My hair lasted all day and looked awesome. The turbo option is an added bonus. Also, the color is beautiful! I was very impressed with this curling iron. I will be purchasing the next size up to add to my collection as well!
I was way overdue for a new curling iron. I am so glad I chose this one! Conair is a brand of hair styling products I have trusted and used for years, and this one didn't disappoint me at all. It has a fast heat up and is well made. I may shop bargan/off brand on many things, but when it comes to my hair care and styling products, I go with a name I can trust. Conair is definitely that for me! Always a great product and at a great price!
Holy cow! The price is absolutely phenomenal for the results you get! Read the heat setting instructions and your curls will be amazing!
Arrived on time in strong packaging without incident. Glad I read reviews, otherwise I might have damaged my hair. I would like to have given another star, but not happy with the way and location of the on/off and turbo buttons. The buttons are in the way and easily turned off.
The on/off button is a quick press button and it's located right on the handle so I keep accidentally turning it off when curling my hair. It's a design flaw not a functionality flaw, because the curling iron works, I don't like the on/off button and where it's located.
The curling iron heated up quickly, but I kept accidentally turning it on and off while I was trying to curl my hair. I used the guidelines for temperature for fine hair, but it would not hold a curl. I increased the temperature, and my curls still didn't hold. I was afraid to turn it up much higher because I didn't want to burn my hair.
Traumatized!!! Burned my hair on first use. Heat setting was on 10 of 30 as you can see in this picture. I preheated the iron, wrapped my first curl and could immediately smell my hair burning. The wand touched my hair for less than two seconds. Only product on my hair was Oleplex heat protector. Buyer beware!!!!
I bother this on a home grocery delivery and it has totally been used! It had the cord wrapped all around the handle! I had no choice but to use it bc mine had broken and I had an event to go to that day! I wiped it down! It was horrible! It not only pulled my hair and my hair is fine/slightly wavy, but the whole entire time I was using it, my fingers kept shutting the iron off! They need to fix how the device is turned off/on, along with the heat boost button. I like the fact the the heat was adjustable, and it did heat up quickly and was hot when it actually stayed on, but no matter how careful I was, my fingers or thumb kept hitting the buttons and shutting the iron off! I don't have time to constantly check to see if the device is still on and set to the temp I want. I was doing my hair and didn't realize that it had shut off and my hair wasn't curling. It was very frustrating! I want to know that while I'm doing my hair, that I can trust that the iron I'm using will stay on,until I decide to turn it off.
I used it a few times. I used to weekend in a salon and I know how to use a curling iron. when doing my hair I heard a "pop" and the light (on the iron) flickered. About 3 seconds into the curl my hair burned off! in hindsight, I shouldnt have used it after the "pop" sound. But, it never should have gotten hot enough to burn hair off. I did not use it improperly.
Too bad I was waiting for the new hair iron, and upon receipt it found the box open and the condition of the hair iron seemed to be used with scratches on the hand and dirty disappointment. I dont know if Wal-Mart sold me a hair iron that was used or was it replaced on its way
