Got a great deal on these. The shelf life is kind of conflicting. The sticker on front says up to 30 year shelf life and then there's another sticker on the side which says sept of 2023 good through sept of 2032.

These smaller kits are a great value. For two of us its 4 days for each kit. Taste is actually pretty good. I would suggest having a protein source to add. Canned chicken or tuna works well. As you would expect the meals included are short on protein.

Love Auguson survival boxes. I pick ip one fairly often. Very minimal protein and high calorie, but for emergency food it's a good buy.

I opened this bucket so I can transfer to a backpack for my bug out bag. The bucket has a date of 2050 expiration date (The food lot is dated April 4, 2020) but not all food will expire in 30 years. Each packet is 6.5"x8" in size. Here is the breakdown for expiration dates: cheese powder (March 27, 2030) buttermilk pancakes (March 10, 2030) 2x creamy chicken rice (March 26, 2045) brown sugar oatmeal (March 12, 2045) potato soup (April 3, 2045) 2x elbow macaroni (March 24, 2050) I hope not to ever cook it but for the price it's good to have around.

tiny problem with the labels...

I have only a small complaint, is that the expiration date in the food pooches is all different. Some expire in ten years...but the bucket says it will expire in 30 years. I mean what about if we never used it and decide to donate it to a food bank close to the year 2030? but the food bank won't know if they don't open the bucket. Anyway, you see my point. I still give them 5 stars because the price is right. the small bucket is pressure-tight and not roaches or anything can't get in. NOt even water I think. Now about the taste is not bad either. with a little more creativity, you can enhance the flavor your self if it doesn't please you.

I don't intend to open the containers to examine or taste the food. Well sealed. Adequate variety of meals. Augason Farms has a good reputation and was glad I could get it right away and didn't have to wait months. Home delivered in 3 days. Excellent!
