Picked up this shovel for taking care of camp fires. It is a good size when folded up and sturdy when unfolded. Ash wipes off easy and the finish holds up to the heat. It performs so well that I've started leaving this in my vehicle since it doesn't take up much space.
Bought with limited expectations based on the modest price but this product turned out to be much, much worse than anticipated. When trying to use for the first time the blade would not lock in place. Thinking I might be missing something I had 2 other people try but they also couldn't get it work properly. Appears to be some defect in the design and/or manufacturing of the rings used in the locking mechanism so now I have a pile of metal which I couldn't even get one use out of.
