This doorbell camera works very well. Straight forward install and easy integration with Lorex Home App with my home security cameras.
These are great highly recommend.
Well- designed app, wide angle camera. Much better than our old zmodo. Plus, stores on SD card so no need for monthly subscriptions. Recommended.
Nice, not hard to install. Works really well.
The images are similar to Ring, my only complaint is that only one registered user has access to the stored replays. While I purchased and paid for the product. I had my boyfriend set it up on his phone because he is more technologically advanced than I. I set up a separate account and he authorized me as a user. But because it was a secondary account, I did not have access to the stored play backs. Only he did. And this is my house and my purchased product. So that is disappointing. At least two users (say husband and wife) should have access. Not just the original set up user. With ring we both had access.
I bought this because of good prior success with a Lorex camera. This doorbell connects to my wifi about half of the time. My wireless router is just on the other side of the wall from the doorbell, so I am quite disappointed. Also, the doorbell corrupted it's own memory, so I had to reformat it, thereby losing the first set of recordings.
1) Doorbell wouldn't connect to hotspot out of the box so Lorex replaced camera. 1st unit seemed corrupt out of the box. 2) Had issues connecting wifi doorbell to other Lorex Fusion NVR and cameras. After about 10 hours of tech support over a week finally was able to add doorbell cam to same monitor as other existing cameras. Install notes: Had to install new 16V doorbell transformer. Wouldn't work on existing 12V doorbell system. Camera only connects on 2.4Ghz, (not 5Ghz) and doesn't use WAP3 security feature. Had frustrating issues connecting to a wifi "mesh" system. Wifi doorbell and wifi router must share same IP address to connect. "Mesh" access points must be disabled to sync the doorbell to the router and avoid interference. Had to make a spacer to fit behind the mounting bracket as there was no room for wiring behind it. I suggest this to make room for wiring and relieve stress off of the tiny mounting screw in the bottom that holds unit to bracket. Overall- Works like it should but very difficult install in some situations. Clarity of view is less than Ring brand but works for what I needed without monthly subscription. I'd opt for separate wireless camera instead of doorbell cam!
I live in Phoenix Arizona. Worked great during the winter but as soon as the 2021 summer came my lorex doorbell stopped working. Ive already upgraded the low voltage transformer, checked wiring and inspected the door bell. As far i can i tell the camera malfunctioned likely due to the heat. Do not buy if you are one the millions living in a hot area as i suspect will fail.
I have never been able to connect to the doorbell hotspot. It pops up sporadically and when selected it is never able to connect. Therefore, I am not able to complete the setup. I have contacted the manufacturer and explained that I have a failed product. They opened a support ticket and closed it in the same email.
Several people tried to install it and could not get it to connect to the Internet. Finally spent 45 minutes on the phone with technical support. When they couldn't get it to function they offered to replace it or refund me. We chose refund but we will see if that happens.
