Wish we had purchased this camera and screen system when we first purchased our camper 3 years ago. We had first purchased a camera and screen system that was much cheaper that never worked well. What a waste of money. This 7 inch wireless observation camera system gives us a clear picture of what is behind our camper while pulling it down the highway. The picture has never dropped - the wireless connection is constant. We feel so much safer now that we are able to view what is behind our RV at all times. Great for backing up to hook up the camper to our truck, or backing into a camping space. Love that it is so easy to use the screen to make changes and adjustments to the camera and viewing screen. Highly recommend this product!
This observation system met all of my expectations! I had used wireless systems before and was concerned about interference - there was none. Installed in minutes on a new Open Range 2102RB travel trailer that was pre-wired for it. It worked immediately and I had no signal problems even with my aluminum body 2017 Ford F-150 tow vehicle (I do have the glass roof which may have helped). Drove back to Puyallup WA from Portland OR and never lost signal even once. This is my 7th RV and my first with a backup camera - and when I turned it around and backed it in at the RV storage lot it was incredibly easy! No spotter needed! Highly recommended! I am considering the side view cameras now because of the performance of the rear camera.
Plug and play for pre-wired trailer. Easy, works great.
It's like having a rear view mirror
Easy to set up, works great on my 40 ft fifth wheel and my GMC truck... Great reception.
Fits our pre-wired RV perfectly. Nice large screen. Paired quickly with screen. Sits easily in our dash.
I can not attest to the instillation because our RV dealer installed it. As for the function, it's one of the best investments we made. It made backing up a breeze. We still use a ground guide but it definably helped. Instead of radios, I can see my wife's hand signals (Yes I taught her hand signals that we used in the Army...it just works). The system works while the lights are on. Yes that means you have to have the lights on all of the time. Good safety habit anyways. It works great when passing vehicles as you can better judge when to make your merge into the lane. I can hear the wife as it has a microphone when she is guiding me. Sometimes I hear things come out of her mouth that was not meant to be heard...lol. Over all I can not find a bad thing to say about this system after 6 months of use. I would encourage you to get the turn signal camera system as it will enhance your vision and make it safer.
Had RV tech hook it up. It worked once. Keep getting no signal message. Camera and monitor will only pair when next to each other. Still waiting for furrion to advise. Might have to buy booster and spend more money.
It does not even deserve a one star. Only time you will get camera to work is when it's in the cab to be synced. After it's mounted to the back of your RV, it doesn't pickup a signal. It's worthless as a backup camera. Ended up returning it.
I have purchased three of these cameras. Each one has become unusable in less than 12 months as the lens is plastic and clouds when exposed to sunlight (think clouded plastic headlight). This is a real problem for a camera that is supposed to be used on the exterior of a trailer. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA IF YOUR RV IS USED OUTDOORS!
