I bought this time clock to replace a fingerprint time clock system that I battled with for 3 years. I love the security of the iButton technology. It's practically as secure as the fingerprint but without the major headaches. Setup was pretty easy. When I hit a snag, the folks at TimePilot were super helpful with tech support, and we were up and running in no time. Running payroll is efficient. Missing punches are easy to spot and there are plenty of options for calculating overtime, holiday pay, etc.
I love the fact that this product has both the ability to connect directly to our local area network and work stand alone, so if there is something wrong with our network or connection I can still collect the data using the USB flash drive. I originally had the Clock connected directly to our network because I thought that would be the simplest but it put the clock in an inconvenient place for our employees to clock in and out. I later moved the clock for the employees with the intention of eventually running a network connection to it, however I found it so easy to just use the USB drive that I didn't bother running the cable. I simple collect the data with the USB drive when ever I want to check on the data and it merges into the main software. Very clean. I thought I had to use the USB drive that came with the product but later found out from the manufacturer you can use any USB drive.
After two different systems - one with badges and one using finger print technology I found the TImePilot Vetro! The iBottons make employee use a snap. The software is top notch full featured, flexible and FAST! You can run the TimePilot Vetro stand alone or on your network. In stand alone mode all you do to collect your data is plug in the provided USB thumb drive and it automatically uploads. Download to your PC is simple. Just start the software and plug in the USB thumb drive. I love this system! My employees love it too.
Great product!! Make my life so much easier not having to read scribbled and imports easily into quickbooks. Plus it helps staff from guessing what time they came to work or left for lunch. Saves company money too with paying staff based on actual time....
These are the best priced ibuttons I could find. They are almost half price compared to other retailers. Only wish Walmart sold different colors.
I bought this a month ago to replace my traditional paper timeclock and I wish I would have done this years ago. Now I just print reports and don't have to calculate payroll for an hour.
Purchased this based on the the fact if it lost power the payroll period would be safe and the time clock would not have to be re-set. Not So! We lost 2 weeks of payroll right off the bat during a short power outage. Were sending this back.
