after my sweet boy spent some time in the nicu for oxygen levels, this helped me sleep at night. It has never gave us false readings, only the occasional placement issue reading if hes kicking his feet alot. My son wore this from 5 days old until now (3 weeks) with no issues at all. If you are a worried parent, i say definitely get it!!!
We absolutely love the dream sock! As a family who has previously lost a baby who stopped breathing this product has given us such a peace of mind knowing our little guy is ok. We haven't had any false alarms. Before we got this we were barely sleeping because we were afraid something would happen during that time but now we feel safe to actually sleep. My husband works at night he says the dream sock makes him feel comfortable knowing he can check the app while working and know our son is perfectly fine. We seriously love this product so much!!
Owlet has given me peace of mind when it comes to my little one sleeping. I'm able to check on him without having to hover over his bed trying not to wake him. I recommend this to any parent.
When my daughter started sleeping on her stomach my anxiety hit an all time high. The Owlet completely changed that. It's so comforting knowing she's safe & breathing well. Also, I love knowing what stage of sleep she's in. It's much more accurate than the Nanit.
My parents got me the owlet as a baby shower gift and I love it!! I've been using the owlet since my baby was born and it has definitely helped with my anxiety while she sleeps.
Both of my sister-in-laws and my best friend used the owlet sock for their children and swore by it, that is why I put it on my baby registry. I was so happy that someone purchased it for me since it is on the pricer side. I have been using the owlet sock for almost 4 months now and it is worth every penny! I love it! It gives me so much peace of mind. Especially since my son prefers to sleep on his stomach. I love that I can open the owlet app and check his heart rate and oxygen levels. I looked into other monitoring devices and the owlet sock is the most practical being that it is placed on the baby's foot. My only complaint about using it so far is the reach for the base. The base has to be pretty close to the actual sock. We put the base in our bedroom at first and it kept going off saying it wasn't able to connect. Our house is not very big and our bedroom is not very far from our son's room so I feel like the base should be able to reach. I wish I had the base in our room in case it ever went off during the night. I also feel like the base could be a little louder because it sounds faint from another room. Luckily I have the app on my phone and it alerts me via my phone but I would also like to have the base on my nightstand next to me. Other than that, I would definitely recommend the owlet! I would not sleep as well if I didn't have the sock and good sleep is so important as a Mom!
It gives great piece of mind. However, software is VERY slow to load and the range of the base station is a bit low. If you walk with the baby out of range, the Dream sock needs to be readjusted, or the alarm notification needs to be muted for any reason then it could take up to a minute to open the app and have it connect to the base station to turn it off. At least in these situations they are doing their job, but it would be nice for the wifi enabled base station to be a bit more responsive when you want to mute the alarms. Clicking the base station temporarily mutes the alarm, but only temporarily, which is not helpful if you happen to be just out of range. From what I hear the software is generally more useful outside of the US, and hopefully that usability can be available everywhere soon.
This thing constantly loses connection to the base station or "has trouble reading" and when all is fine and quiet in the middle of the night and the alarm starts going off because it all of a sudden can't read vitals, good luck going back to sleep after having a mini heart attack. And the app has a hard time loading too. It frequently clears itself and shows no vitals for minutes before refreshing so I find myself spending most of the night waking myself up to check on my baby because this thing is too inconsistent to really trust it. And let's not even start on the price point for the value....
Great peace of mind with a horrible app that misses data, takes too long to update data, has to reload data every time you open it making it hard to tell at a quick glance of baby's status, doesn't load the latest data for 20-30 mins even if you shut down and restart the app, doesn't allow for multiple users to log in to same device so nanny will have your account and get alarmed even when they are off hours since you can't set user roles,
It's a good product with good purpose. But ours keeps telling us it's out of range when we're a foot away from the base. It's an expensive product for it to not work properly.
