I've only used it for 2 weeks so I can't give a durability rating. The only problem I have and it's because my hands aren't very strong, is that the lid is a little difficult to remove. It does give directions on how to remove the lid. Other that that I love the coffee, it is very hot which is wonderful, it's fast which is wonderful and the beautiful stainless steel finish cleans very easily. I would reccomend it to everyone who loves quick, delicious, hot coffee.
We had this same coffee percolator several years ago and used it until it quit. We decided to try another brand but came back to this percolator. It is great. There are no grounds in our coffee and the coffee is really hot. Will definitely stay with this brand.
It was exactly what we wanted. We bought another brand a couple years ago, but it didn’t keep the coffee hot, and the clear plastic percolator knob on the lid broke off. Now our coffee stays hot and we like the design of this percolator a lot better, it is not so bulky, and it’s slimmer shape fits our space better.
We used to go to the coffee shop several times a week, even though we had a one-cup brewer at home. This coffee perculator makes such good coffee we have not been to the coffee shop in two weeks. It brews rich, hot coffee, and is a considerable cost savings. It might take a bit of experimenting to find your perfect ratio of coffee to water based on your taste, but the end product is well worth it. We do recommend the flat round filters that go in the bottom of the basket rather than the wrap-around filters, but we prefer strong coffee.
This is my first experience with a percolator. thus I can only compare to an auto-drip. If you are looking for a "push-button-and-go" coffeemaker, this is not for you! If you are willing to be patient and follow the instructions, you'll have taste to remember! HOW MANY CUPS? When putting cold water in the pot, the "desired level indicator" is inside of the pot and difficult to see. FILTER: To keep coffee grounds out of your perfect cup of coffee, it is important to use the recommended wraparound filters. They are lightweight and allow the flavor to come thru. After inserting the center hole in the filter over the perk tube, hold a finger over the hole (to keep coffee from getting down the tube), fill to desired level, then, secure all four corners of the filter over the perk tube. ASSEMBLY Getting the perk tube in the perk well while holding the basket (can't see a thing) was a bit of a challenge for me! Now, get ready to enjoy an awesome flavor! Mmmmmm. Your coffee will stay hot for as long as it is plugged in! There is no auto-shut off! I have a note on my door to remind me to turn off the coffee pot! It is important to keep the pot and it's parts clean. It is NOT dishwasher friendly. The design is sleek and doesn't take up much counter space. It is a good value. I've only had this coffee maker a few weeks (one learns a lot that first time thru!). This percolator is more work than an auto-drip and does not have the safety feature of auto-shutoff, but the taste of the brew far surpasses that of any drip coffee maker.
I had never had percolated coffee before I went to my husbands grandparents. Thinking it looked so old school and that they needed to update, I was gravely mistaken. The coffee comes out unbelievable awesome! My husband and I just moved into our own home and immediately purchased this item based of reviews and price. It did not disappoint. I'll never go to Starbucks or coffee bean again. Especially with all the different coffee creamer flavors available.
This is really worth the extra money… I love that this is all stainless steel and easy to clean. I have tried multiple other brands and styles, none of them compare to the quality and taste this percolator gives. I have tried with and without the paper filter that it comes with. I do find my coffee being a little bit smoother without. The only thing I would suggest is get a proper grind so that it isn't too fine and falls through the holes. I made this mistake and had grounds all in my coffee. I used a different grind and it was perfect for me. So the paper filter is all about preference. 10/10
I love love love this percolator! Before I was using Keurig and loved it too but this percolator makes much better tasting coffee. Tip: Let it sit for a minute after the light comes on before pouring the first cup. The more it sits the stronger it'll be. I haven't ground my own coffee yet, using pre-ground Starbucks and Folgers so far.
I like the size of this percolator . I generally do 8 cups and yet can do more if we have company.. Fast perking and keeps coffee hot. Shipping was quick. Coffee taste great in this percolator.
We love this coffee maker. It will make 10 cups of great tasting coffee in about 6 minits. We bought the 12 cup maker so we could make enough for several other people when needed. My only complaint is the cost of the fold over filters, but I solved this by folding a regular filter in half, then in half again and snipping a tiny piece off the point. It won't fold over on top of the coffee but I don't see that as being a real necessity.
