Great bike!

This bike is awesome! I was concerned about the height of the bike, as I'm about 5'2". I have no problem getting on and off, or pedalling. I like the upright posture it makes you have while riding. It was assembled and ready for pick-up within hours of its arrival! There were 2 minor scratches/nicks in the paint along the main frame, but not horrible. She rides well, though I will probably take the advice of other's reviews, and oil up the chains a bit. I purchased the bike both for leisure and exercise, and have greatly enjoyed each ride! I keep my bike indoors when I'm home, which I believe will help it last.

Easy assembly

Bought this for a film shoot and for my personal use later. Very nice bicycle (reminds me of my first). Easy to assemble except for the plastic they wrap all the parts in, which is difficult to get of, but I understand its necessity, so I'm not complaining too much. Seems to be a mixture of SAE and Metric bolt sizes, but since my tool chest is well equipped, that was not a problem for me.

50lbs of bicycle with nice shock absorbers

As you can see by the logo on the side that I received this free via Walmart's Spark Reviewer Program. I will try to give you a fair review so you can assess whether you would like to purchase this type of bike or not. I must add I have a Schwinn Road Bicycle from Walmart that I really love. That bicycle weighs about 15 pounds guessing and this cruiser weighs over 40lbs. First Some Negatives : The Bike is heavy. Its been mentioned. I was anticipating it being heavy and I even see this weight and I say its heavy but until you actually pick up the box and the bicycle you really don't realize that this bicycle is definitely all steel. No caliper breaks, No shimano gears. Just one speed. The Positives: The bike is easy to use and care for. Without all the fancy breaks and gears this bicycle was very easy to put together. Actually the Bike came partially assembled with a few parts to put together. A nice instruction booklet makes this bike an easy do it yourself bike rather than bringing into the bike shop. The bike is a comfortable ride. You can't really feel any bumps and for a single speed is fairly smooth. It took me a little getting used to compared to a road bike yet I see its advantages. The price. Where can you get a bike for around $100 bucks? The bike has nice balloon tires for easy maneuverability and I think it would be very difficult to get a flat tire on this bike as the tread is quite deep on the tires. The tires take 45lbs of air compared to my road bike which takes 80lbs and little or no tread. The bike also has a nice sturdy kickstand and back plank on the rear wheel for backpacks or loading stuff. To be honest I'm not sure I would have purchased this style of bike as I love my Walmart Road Bike but people already have been asking me where did I get that neat bike from? It actually does look like the model made in the 1930s. To Conclude: Yes its heavy or you might want to say solidly built but its simple with its one speed easy to take care of, comfortable over the rough roads and fun to ride. Enjoy!!!

This is one pretty bike !! i put it together and kept it in my living room . By the way i`m 58 yrs old i have been buying huffy beach bikes and installing motor kits. When i set on this bike i fit really well i`m 5ft 10 about 260 pounds there is plenty of room for my knee`s i have to build a seat extender for my huffy. This bike has a really nice built frame i will keep this bike it rides really smooth but my brother wants to buy it . hah

Nice Ride

This is a beautiful bike. I must mention that I have not put a bike together ever and I am not a mechanical person but it is fairly easy to put together. I was able to do a major portion by myself. My son had to tighten everything down for me. Yes, I did have some issues that were taken care of by customer service. They were very helpful. It came unassembled with the back tire & brakes already attached to the frame so I had to attach the front wheel, handlebars & seat together. It was more than I expected but not hard to put together and I had to figure out how to attach all those extra metal pieces in their proper spots. The illustrations were not detailed enough. I had trouble figuring out how to get the handle bars into the bike frame as it would not fit the way I expected it should have been a simple drop in and tighten (this is one area that customer service helped). The main reason I called customer service was that I thought there was a piece missing that secured the seat post to the bike. Apparently the seat of the bike should be tightened by the bold that is just behind the seat on the frame we could not get it to tighten properly to the frame so that the seat would stay at a proper height.

Take a Cruise on This Cruiser

The men’s cruise bike arrived in a very efficiently packed box. However, one piece was a little scuffed up from the delivery. This bike doesn’t come pre-assembled and doesn’t come with any tools, so you’ll need wrenches, screw drivers, and a hex wrench. The set up was relatively easy and everything was pretty straight forward, with the exception of the handle bar installation. You need to unscrew and loosen the bottom piece before inserting it into the frame. Total set up time on the bike was around 2 hours. I am around 5'8"and the bike is about the right size for me. I probably wouldn't recommend it for anyone smaller. The bike is longer than some of the bikes I am used to because it is a cruiser. If you like cruisers, this is a great looking retro bike. The build of the bike is excellent, very study steel frame. Another person can ride on the back with no problem. Decently priced for how well it was built. Bike is really smooth while riding, really great for riding around town. The negatives include needing to back pedal to stop and having a single gear. In general, I prefer hand brakes, so it does takes some getting used to. This is really meant for riding somewhere that is flat. I am from San Francisco, so this is very difficult riding up and down hills. Otherwise, this is a good looking black & white bike.

I have to say this bike looks much better in person. I liked the style of it, but after assembly, it was a lot nicer to look at. I would suggest picking this item up in store, UPS wasn't very nice handling the shipment and the box came half open with a large hole in the side. The bike didn't have any damage thankfully. The assembly process took a good 2-3 hours, which I found slightly ridiculous (maybe I just don't build bikes often enough). You'll need a lot of space, but the overall process wasn't very complicated, just time consuming. The bike itself is sturdy to hold 220lbs (tall) person. The seat is comfortable, but seems it may need to be upgraded with daily use. It took a bit of time to remember how to brake manually as there are no hand brakes as can be seen from photos. It is definitely a cruiser bike meant for neighborhood or boardwalk rides on a nice day. I do not see this being a good bike for long distances or a path with many hills. The bike is heavy, it's a workout to get it up and down a flight of steps. The back part of the bike has a little part where you can tie on something to carry with you. It's pretty thin, which is nice, but wouldn't be good for hauling very far. The tires seem to be good (I don't know much about bike tires), and will hopefully last long. Overall it is a very nice bike if you are looking for something to go on a short distance cruise or want to take to the beach on a nice day!

For the money, It's Great!

The bike looks beautiful in person. I wish that they had done a couple of things different. They should have used steel wheels instead of the aluminum. An american bottom bracket setup would have been nice too. I don't think that would have cost them any extra to have those original like items equipped on the bike. But Hey! For the money it's a great bike!!

The bike itself and it's design is very cool.......I'm happy with it.........Only gave 3 stars because of the fact that I do a lot of research before I buy anything. Watched a video of this great Columbia manufacturing facility in the USA here, but labeling all over the bike and cardboard box say "Made in China". That's a little confusing, and saddened me. Also, it comes in this super sturdy cardboard box, but it was totally opened up when the UPS driver set it in my garage for me. He seemed a little embarrassed. A piece of heavy duty shrink wrap plastic or some similar material wrapped around the box would have kept that from happening. Who ever packaged the bicycle made a pretty serious mistake. The front forks were reversed, and the screws that hold the really cool looking front fork chrome rails onto the bike put some terribly deep scratches in the beautiful top rail. The bike would've fit in the box with the forks turned towards the front, and the fastening screws should have been in a bag, not on the bike already. Important note: No hardware was missing. I had everything I needed for assembly. I want to be fair in my feedback. Every part on the bike was wrapped in a light weight cardboard, and then plastic wrap over that. So that was very good. I wish that practice had taken place over 100% of the packing of this bicycle. The rear wheel was pulled back too far and the chain was too tight. A little loosening and re-tightening of the rear wheel hub bolts fixed that. So in closing, I recommend delivery to the store, and have a Walmart Employee assemble the bike. With that, you will probably never have the experience that this DIY guy had. The bike is neat and nostalgic looking. I like it. Walmart had the best price on the internet. I wish I could include more photos, but only 2 are allowed.

Poor Online

I ordered two bikes in the beginning of Jan. First of all I had to get help from the customer service because it wanted to ship it to my home address and I wanted shipped to a different address. The page gives you no option for a different shipping address. After delays the bikes arrived at the end of Jan. One had bent forks and my only option was a refund or take a bike from the floor. I accepted the bike from the floor which had several scratches and dents only because I was limited by time and wanted a matching bike. Will never order from Walmart online again!
