Very nice lights. Large globes give off enough light to see your path in the darkest night. Attractive lattice around the globe gives them a great look. Easy to assemble, just remove from the packing plastic, slide the globe on the 'post', remove the stake end and turn it around so the point goes into the ground. Be sure you take the top off and pull the tab out so that the battery will connect to the lights. Nice price, too. I'll probably be buying more of these to use in different areas around the house.
I am reviewing The Mainstays Solar Outdoor Lights, lattice pattern. The lights are black and there are 6 in the box. So these are not the cheap solar pathway lights that I am used to. These solar lights are actual glass! The quality is wonderful on these lights! The design that the light makes on the ground is beautiful as well, it makes a flower pattern. The assembly is simple, the size is good (they are 12.8 inches high each), and they are nice and bright too. There is no wiring, they each have a battery on them that recharges with sunlight. They turn on automatically as it gets dark out and remain on overnight (if you get enough sunlight that day). These solar lights are very nice, I am very pleasantly surprised by the quality.
The first thing I noticed about this light is that it is much sturdier thank previous lights I have owned. The lens is made of glass, not plastic. The frame is heavier guage plastic. I live in Michigan, where we don't get a lot of sun light. I charged this battery (700 mAH instead of 400) before first use. It is brighter than my other lights and runs all night long. It seems to be recharging even though our days in January are cloudy and short. I plan to purchase more of these units.
Exceptional Features, Value Priced At a distance, or up close, the Mainstay 8 Lumen Solar Outdoor Lattice Pathway Light, has the sculptured and pleasing appearance of an expensive premium level product. Precision fits and finishes are readily apparent. During daylight hours the lattice trim is visually eye-catching and at night the lattice grid shadow on the ground below is striking. And, it is not just another pretty face; the units rigidity and overall robustness is apparent when installing it in the turf or handling it. A value-added feature is that no-tools are needed for maintenance; just rotate the top a few degrees to open the fixture, clean the interior, or replace the battery. At 8 lumens per fixture, the luminosity is adequate for identifying the path between fixtures, but is marginal in highlighting pathway imperfections such as uneven pavement at expansion joints. The most significant issue I experienced was that the included rechargeable battery failed in 8 days. This could be an anomaly, but more aggressive battery testing and selection by the manufacturer should prevent it. Irrespective of the battery issue, I still rate the product at 5 stars. Considering, it’s value pricing at less than five dollars, and it’s in-stock availability, it warrants 5 stars.
I was pretty impressed by the size and sturdiness of these pathway lights. I was not expecting them to be as big and solid feeling as they are. They go into the ground quite easily and it recommends wetting the dirt a bit if you struggle get them staked in. I am in the Midwest and it has been nothing but grey and dismal the past few weeks, no sunshine at all. Even still, I was pleasantly surprised to see these still light up quite well considering. They also leave a pretty shaped pattern on the ground due to the lattice decoration on the light. Overall really pleased with these and looking forward to seeing how bright they shine once we get nicer weather and actual sunshine. I received this item in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
The Mainstays 8 Lumen Solar Outdoor Lattice Pathway Lights 1.2V in Black (6-Pack) look great lining my walkway. I love the lattice pattern on the lights and how it creates a pattern on the ground. These are easy to connect to the posts and push into the ground. Each light has its own solar panel so there are no connecting wires to worry about or trip over. The top of each light can be twisted off to reach the battery area. There are pull tabs that need to be removed before use. I appreciate that so the batteries do not get worn out in the package. I also like that the batteries are replaceable because from past experience they will eventually need replaced and it is better to insert a new battery than to have to buy all new lights. With flashlights having hundreds or thousands of lumens, I wasn't sure how bright 8 lumens would be, but each light produces plenty. These come in a 6 pack so I was able to put 3 lights on each side of the walkway. The suggestion says to place 4-5 feet apart so I alternated them on each side and they look great. I am really impressed that the globes are actually made of glass and not plastic. These are some high quality lights.
I Purchased a couple of these for the purposes of inserting inside a plastic Halloween pumpkin pail (for our front lawn). The photo are my first two “practice” pails but I'd say they turned out great. I have more along our driveway.
I received my Mainstays 8 Lumen Solar Lattice pathway light about a week ago, first thing I did notice about it that it was a better quality than most similar outdoor lights, the actual case is made out of steel I think, I’ve dropped it already and nothing happened but the spike that goes into the ground is still plastic, that’s to prevent rust I’m sure, we let it charge in the sunlight for a full day, also there is a plastic strip that needs to be removed in order for the light to work which is underneath the cap, although it’s has a led light but when lit it seems to have a incandescent look, I just expected it to look more white, the brightness was perfect though. The mainstays Solar Lattice LED pathway light was easy to assemble following the included instructions. The light is solar powered and does have a replaceable battery that are easy to find and replace if needed. The light is about 17 inches tall once assembled and stands about 14 inches once placed in the ground. The light does need to be placed in a location that will be in sunlight for an extended amount of time for the battery to fully charge. Once charged the light will automatically come on at dusk and stay on for about 8-9 hours depending on how much of sun light the unit received to charge the batteries. When placed along a sidewalk or pathway the light is bright enough to comfortably see up to about 2 feet around it. The LED emitter does put out a bright white light and the pattern of the lattice around the glass globe makes for a pleasant light and shadow pattern. The light does seem to be well made and would be very easy to move if needed to use a weed eater around it. The light is waterproof and colder temperatures do not seem to affect it very much.
I ordered this light set online since my local Walmart was out of stock. In the lic below is what I received. That was it!!! No invoice, no packing, and missing 5 lights!!! However, I was billed the full price
