Movie about the first black man to play in major league baseball. Jackie Robinson showed immense strength of character and grace under pressure to achieve this milestone. The movie shows just how ugly racism can be, and also how uplifting it is for people who are not racist. The owner of the baseball team, who is a white man, also shows great strength of character and compassion. The antidote to racism of course lies in how we nurture and educate our children. It's a really good movie that leaves you feeling good, though concerned.
42 is one of the best movies to show the life of Jackie Robinson and the struggles he faced as the first African American ball player in American baseball.
This was an honestly raw, TRUTHFUL but, touching, excellent movie!! I own it and watch it occasionally and never get tired of it. Story of Jackie Robinson, trials, courage, and mak8ng history! Awesome movie.
