This is my my all time favorite Clinique product and its getting hard to find. I hope they dont discontinue it or let the public know so I can hoard some! Its light, smooth and great for under makeup.
I use Superdefense daily for over 8 years, it's the best, especially thanks to SPF 25 which is hard to find in other products. It is quite disappointing that the "NEW" Superdefense has only SPF 20. If making changes to this excellent product why not increase to SPF 30 as in CC/BB? I truly hope this will be reconsidered for your loyal Superdefense customers...
Disappointed! Why would you REDUCE the SPF coverage in the Superdefense product vs increase it? Skin cancer is on the rise and this was a wonderful product that was effective. I am a lifelong customer, I have used this product for years, loved it and found it was the only product I could wear all day. Now will go looking for a new product as 20 SPF is not sufficient. Please, please increase it to 25 or bring the old SD back!
I'm in Florida and have used the dry combination age defense moisturizer for both the sun protection and the age defense. The prior product never broke out my face. Now that you have lowered the SPF, combined the very dry to the dry combination, and added St Johns Wart to the ingredients, I will no longer use this product. I am now sadly looking elsewhere for age defying products with SPF of 25 or 30.
I love the product and the ingredient list is very impressive, but most of these antioxidants will not last long in this jar packaging. Clinique makes these wonderful cutting edge products and then puts them in packaging from the sixties.... It's too bad, because it would be my go to daytime moisturizer otherwise.
In addition to the SPF reduction, the new formula is extremely sticky and caused me to breakout. I bought three jars because I was unaware that the "formula" changed as well, so I promptly returned all three. This WAS the best moisturizer out there. Please bring back the old formula.
Received this as a sample and am not impressed. It doesn't moisturize as well as the original superdefense (spf 25) and the sunscreen element isn't as effective. Cannot understand why Clinique decided to change a product that was consistently 5 star rated by us customers. The superdefense spf 25 worked beautifully as both a moisturizer and a sunscreen. If it's not broken - and it wasn't! - don't fix it!
I've used Super Defense for years and have always loved the product. After a recent purchase, I was very disappointed to see the formula and SPF have changed. I am going to return it this week. In particular, the texture is now very sticky and doesn't absorb well and the SPF has been lowered to 20, not good at all! The American Academy of Dermatology recommends a minimum of SPF 30. I am very disappointed the formula has changed.
I am so very disappointed in the formula changes. I used to LOVE the Super Defense. I don't understand why there is no longer just a 'Dry Combination' option. I don't have very dry skin, so the simple dry combination or average was perfect. I figured I would still give it a try and adapt to the changes. However, I could not stand it. Had to return it, as it made my skin very oily and shiny. I am really hoping Clinique will go back to the original formula, so I can use again!
Please stop using the antiquated jar packaging. I transfer my Super Defense Day moisturizer into travel-sized tubes for daily use to help the ingredients stay good/effective longer, but I think YOU should be putting it in the tubes for this price, not me.
