I bought this for my mom because she had no time in the morning to make her expresso. Now she drinks coffee every morning :)
The next best espresso machine to one of those real expensive ones. You really get a creamy espresso. At first I had a problem with water leaking from the machine, but i called the company, who determined that it must be the reservoir. They sent for one. It took 6 weeks, since it was comning fromn France, but now I don´t have that problem any longer.
This espresso maker is excellent. It does every thing I wanted and at a fraction of the price some of those high end espresso machine.
I would give it a 5 except that I had to return my first one because after 6 weeks of use the water storage started leaking. I think I solved the problem by not removing the container but filling it in place, time will tell. There is absolutely no other espresso maker for me.
Very happy with the item, except for the fact that the price was reduced $10 a week later...hard to justify when you are a senior on a fixed income.
I bought this, and a Mr. Coffee Burr grinder for $40, and now I drink so much more coffee,.I think it's killing me. I've gained about 5lb in the past few weeks. The stream wand takes some getting used to to get a good microfoam, and self-tamping is never a real thing. It comes with a flat bottomed scoop, so you can kind of tamp your grounds, but it's not great for it. Buy a separate tamper. Given the right grounds, you can achieve a good crema thanks to the pump. The warning plate is not really viable for waking your cups. The reservoir is very convenient. Stream wand is better for cappuccino, than latte.
I HAD TO RETURN THE FIRST ONE THAT I BOUGHT BECAUSE WATER WASN'T COMING OUT. THE SECOND ONE MADE EXCELLENT COFFEE , HOWEVER WHEN USING PODS IN THE MACHINE ALL I GOT WAS DIRTY WATER . I SUGGEST USING ONLY GROND COFFEE IN THIS MACHINE IF YOU WANT A REAL ESPRESSO .
This machine makes the absolute worst cup of espresso I have ever had.... I even had a steam machine which makes a worse espresso than a pump machine and this still makes worse espresso....definitely stay away from this machine.
This is a pump espresso maker so it makes a weird noise while its "pumping". We got used to the noise but within a few weeks it started leaking. We returned it.
I did not have good luck with this product, and have returned it. I had a previous Krups espresso machine that I used every day for 15 years and loved it. Replaced it with this, but was very dissatisfied. The espresso was not hot, had to heat in microwave before drinking. Very weak, the filter was always full of water after brewing despite trying different coffee grinds. It would not froth milk, would spurt out steam until the milk would boil.
