If you're expecting this to humidify even a small room, don't count on it, but... It works perfectly at the office on my desk. It doesn't put out a lot of humidity, but putting it close to me gives me enough humidity to avoid a sinus infection. I must also agree with the other post, Reading the instructions helped. The biggest trick is to wet the wick and put it in place. Then, hold the 2 ends of the wick and lightly tug on them to snug it down. With this trick I've been using the humidifier for over a month now without a single problem. Good luck.
I have had this product for a week. I was surprised w all the negative reviews. I have it right next to my bed and it is working fine. I wonder if some if the reviewers read the directons before using it. I wanted a small unit for my bed side with just a gentle steam. It fits my needs. I only wish I could turn off the light because I like darkness when I sleep. Other than that very satisfied w the purchase!
I was in the market for a humidifier for my son's room and I saw this at Walmart. I bought him a large Vick's one for his room, but seeing as to how I caught his cold also... I thought this would be great for my desk while I worked or gamed. It's not. It is adorable! I will give it that. The blue glow is very nice and it didn't leak at all. But you can tell it is cheaply made. I didn't think it was doing anything at all for over and hour but then it started emitting the faintest vapor. I left it on in my office all night and in the morning... it was still working away with a visible vapor but the water container was still mostly full... my home office is only 8x8 and I had the door shut while I slept.... it did NOTHING for this tiny room. unless you plan on keeping it 6 inches from your nose, it's useless. It is just a cool little item to look at. Possibly a better use for it would be adding a drop of fragrance oil and using it as a room freshener.... Final Review? It's cute.... but it doesn't serve it's purpose. It sucks...
At first this was a great choice over the larger humidifiers because of the size and it didn't leak water all over everything. After a few uses though, we notices puddles of water so we put it a shallow bowl or on a towel. Recently we tried using it again and this time no mist. I checked the sponge to make sure it was getting wet, checked to make sure it was getting power, because the light wasn't always coming on. After several tries I gave up. Being a technician, I disassembled it and found that the little plate that contacts the sponge is so delicate that it broke making the unit unusable. I had considered purchasing a new one, but with inferior components, it would be a waste of money. I do hope they keep working for those who haven't had issues.
This is a great looking product that sits on my desk at work with a pretty blue light but puts out very little mist if any at all. I thought the first one I bought was broken but when I exchanged it I noticed the second also put out very little mist but mostly no mist at all. I wouldn't suggest this product.
I purchased this product in store and was absolutely thrilled with its adorable design and the convenience of its size. However, it would put out mist for about 15 minutes, stop for 20, and then mist again. I returned the product the next day thinking it was defective. When i got the second one home, it worked beautifully for about an hour and then I spent about an hour trying to troubleshoot why the mist mysteriously stopped. They say the third time's a charm, but I wasn't willing to make yet another trip and decided to invest in a higher quality model.
I was happy to find a small humidifier, but it doesn't work. You fill it, but even after running it all day and night, almost all the water is still left inside the humidifier. I got mine for $13.99 right at Walmart, but I'm returning it. I've triede it a few different times and it just does not work. I'm disappointed.
I have NEVER written a review for a product but I feel that everyone should know that this product DOES NOT work whatsoever! I bought it around Christmas and have been turning it on every night thinking that it worked. I thought my boyfriend was filling it up every day because the water level was always the same. Come to find out he NEVER filled it! I agree with all the others who have purchased this product and have been completely disappointed! Just wish i could return it, but i don't even have the box anymore! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't waste your money on this product!
This product should be taken off the market. It doesn't work. I wish I would've read the reviews before I bought three of these useless things. We followed the instructions and used distilled water. One stopped working the 1st night, leaked water, made a mess and ruined the desk. The other two produce a very tiny stream of mist intermittently and then stop completely. I'm tired of trying to get these things to work. I will be returning them...after I wait on a long 'after Christmas' customer service line at Walmart :(
After filling the humidifier for the first time, I plugged it into my laptop and turned it on. As soon as I turned it on I was greeted with a very loud, obnoxious, high-pitched 'ring'. At first my mom couldn't hear it but when the pitch dropped a little she started to be able to. In addition to the noise, the product has some sort of light built into it. If I could stand leaving the product on for more than a few seconds I'd probably cover the light up somehow. Since I can't really use it due to the noise, I can't tell if it actually works or not.
