Love the style and the ease of installing the seat. The book was unclear if you use the teather straps don't use the car seat belt also it's one or the other! If you only use the top teather use the seatbelt!! Keep kids safe. Down fall I don't like the cup holders.. But my son loves his seat he is 3.
I love this toddler car seat. It took me some time to finally come to a decision. I did a lot reading, looking up different websites, different car seats, and reading reviews. Needless to say... I purchased this car seat, and is quite pleased. My 1 year old son loves it, it's comfy. The easy to reach cup holder in the front as oppose to the sides is a plus. Great product.
I bought this for my 2 yr old daughter. We both love it! It doesn't sit up too high and she has plenty of room in the seat!! She loves the cup holders and sleeps very good in the seat!! I was iffy about her being able to sleep comfortably but she looks comfy and sleeps really good!!! Love, love, love this booster car seat!!!
I bought this seat about three weeks ago, and my granddaughter loves her new seat!
I needed a car seat for my 2 1/2 yr old son (about 23 lbs). I have a Nissan Versa Note so not a very big car. This car seat not only seemed compact but also has the integrated water bottle holder feature which is why I chose this car seat. Also I really like the color blue of the car seat. Make sure you turn over the car seat and look for date of manufacture. I bought in Oct and it showed an Oct date of manufacture, so am good. I've been using it for past 20 days with my son in it. Buckling him in and taking him out seem alright. Lot of people complain about getting their thumb cut on the knob that you press down to release the shoulder straps. Just be careful I guess. I've been fine. Also its easy to remove the straps and adjust them to whichever position you need. You'd do this first before installing the car seat. We chose the car seat belt option instead of the latch for securing car seat in the car. That was way more secure and the car seat doesn't move much if at all. My other pic should show how much space is left in the backseat after putting in the car seat. 3 can easily sit in the back seat of my small car. Great purchase. JUst a little miffed that the price dropped close to $20 a week after I purchased it. Hoping to get a refund. Let me see.
I purchased this for my 4 year old grandson who is of average height and weight. It was fairly easy to install. It seems to be comfortable. I appreciate how all the strap adjustment features operate smoothly. The material looks good. However, the shoulder straps rub his neck if they are pulled smug. The answer is padding for the straps; not a huge expense but one I certainly didn't plan on making. That is the only thing that made me give it a 4 star rating instead of a 5.
I have always liked Evenflo products which is the reason I picked this harnessed booster seat. I prefer the harness to a seat belt because at 4, I just do not feel the seatbelt is appropriate for my daughter yet. I like this specific seat because it was designed well, it fits my daughter comfortably it leans back a tiny bit, which means if she falls asleep her head does not slump forward cutting off her airway. It is very nice looking, slightly slimmer than a convertible car seat. It feels sturdy and it has the option to use the seat belt when I feel my daughter is ready for that. My only complaint is the harness tensioner, it works just fine but I became accustomed to the turn knob tensioner, this one has a metal tab you pull a strap through. Overall I am very happy with this seat, I highly recommend it to friends and family. Even though it is twice as expensive as the cheaper seatbelt only boosters, it feels much more safe, and puts my heart at ease. It is very much worth the extra cost, but is extremely comparable in price to similar products by other companies. I considered another harnessed booster in which it transitioned to a backless booster, I chose this one because the price of this one plus the cost of buying a backless booster was much cheaper than purchasing the other product that did both.
I ended up keeping it, but really not so happy with it. The two main problems are: 1. The straps are so close to each other they are cutting into my kids neck. I had to find very thin, small and soft padding to cover the upper part of the straps and now it is OK, but really a bad design. 2. The seat is in a very strait, so when he falls asleep he is not in a very good position and his head falls forward. Also the seat is very low, so he cant see much out of the window. We are still using it with the harness, So at least the strap thing will be fine once we change into a booster. It does attach nicely to the car with the LATCH system, and seems to be sturdy. Bottem line is that it is a good price, but does need some improvements.
This seat really looks nice. The dark red trim matches our car perfectly -- I was afraid it was going to be a brownish red from the online picture, but it's brighter than I thought. The two cup holders are also nice. I do have two complaints though. The buckle is not the old style, as shown in the photo, but is a newer style instead. It is too difficult for my four-year-old to fasten by himself. He could buckle himself into his old Evenflo seat, so it's disappointing that with this new seat we have to revert back to buckling him in ourselves every time now, rather than simply tightening up the straps after he's buckled himself in. I even have trouble getting it unbuckled myself. The other issue for us is that the straps dig into the side of his neck. We've tried moving the shoulder straps up/down a slot, but they are still tight there as well. Our son is very thin, so I can't imagine this seat fitting a larger-sized child comfortably. We're hoping that soft strap covers will help. If not, it looks like we'll be looking for another seat.
I have had this car seat a month now for my 5 year old son. If I had to do it over again, I would ot purchase. There are two things that I cannot stand. One is there is not a harness button stop to stop the chest bucklw from going to the bottom of the seat. So once my son is in his seat, he has to lean to one side then the other for me to fish the buckle out from under him. Second, the fabric seating keeps coming unhooked from the base. Apparently it comes undone when he gets in amd slids into place. Ordinarily it would not be a big deal however the white plastic pieces that hook into the base are facing outwards and pricks the back of my sons legs. Very poor design flaws.
