I bought this a little over 2 months ago and and could not be happier!. The very first thing I did was vaccum my entire house with my Dyson. I immediately went back with my Shark and I could NOT believe the amount of hair/dirt that the Shark pulled up. I have 2 Australian Shepherds and have to vaccum about every 3 days this time of year. Would not trade my Shark for ANYTHING!!!
The Shark Apex vacuum is advertised as the most powerful Shark vacuum made. It has been designed to have the most suction of any of their vacuums. It has a specially designed head with both bristles and soft brush rollers. These allow it to pick up even larger particles in addition to dust, lint and hair. I was attracted to this because I have several indoor pets. The brush roller automatically removes the hair that get wrapped around the rolls. This a real job and times saver. Another feature that I like is the filtering ability. Anyone having pets in the house knows how much dander their skin gives off. The filters in this vacuum pick up very fine particles which the manufacturer says is three times the requirement by HEPA standards. It is however a very complicated vacuum. My husband is pretty good with mechanical ability and even with the manual it took some figuring to assemble it. Also, the cleaning process takes a bit of time. You begin by emptying the dust sup then cleaning the dust screen and then there are two filters that will need to be cleaned. In addition it is a very heavy vacuum, weighing almost 18 pounds. If the weight and extra cleaning does not bother you its cleaning ability is exceptional. The extra handheld motor has a 6-inch brush roll. It is great for sofas and chairs.
I have tried many vacuums and this Shark APEX DuoClean with Zero-M Powered Lift-Away vacuum is one of the best that I have tried. It is a bit heavy but it is easy to maneuver. The assembly is pretty easy to figure out but always read the instructions first. I love that the power button and floor type settings (there are three) are on the handle for easy access. The lift away mode is nice for when you need to clean stairs or hard to reach areas. This vacuum comes with different attachments such as pet tool, crevice tool and anti-Allergen dust brush. I love how it bends low to where I can easily vacuum under chairs without moving them. The canister easily comes off and is lightweight. I empty the dust cup after each use and wash the filter after 3 uses. I love that hair doesn't get stuck on the roller and the cord is longer than 27 feet. I highly recommend this great working vacuum.
Received this several weeks ago to test. Packed well in the box to prevent damage. A few parts to assemble, but I did it by myself in about 10 minutes. This is a multi level system. It is both an Upright Vacuum, and has ability to be handheld with the simple release of a button. It can be used on Hard floors, and low pile carpet. This is what I have in my home. It even did well on all my area rugs. It has great suction and very quiet. It has headlights to see under furniture. It is great with Pet Hair, and has technology built in to make sure pet hair does not get tangled up on roller. It has a roller that gives a polished look to my hardwood floors. It came with 6 attachments which can work on stairs, high places, Furniture, and even clean out a car interior. It is HEPA rated, and does not require a bag, just take the dust cup off and empty into trash can. My daughter borrowed it the other day to do her house. She said it was great to work with and bragged how clean the house smelled. I rate this unit 5 stars for sure, and would recommend it to anyone.
I bought this vacuum because I used it at a friends house. I was impressed with it's ability to remove dust, grit(sand) and Labrador dog hair from the hardwood floors and rugs. I received mine a month ago and I am very pleased with the results. I use it on my slate floors which are dark grey, it removes the dust and dog hair perfectly. We have hardwood floors; same results. It also transitions from hardwood to rug seamlessly. I also like the long electrical cord, helpful when going room to room. Just wish I had seen the referral money offer before I ordered it. My friend deserves a $20 referral fee.
This vacuum comes very well packaged, easy to put together, and rarely had to refer to instructions.It has all kinds of useful features and attachments. Love that the adjustment for floor types is at your fingertips.It has 3 filters that you just rinse with water. There are LED lights on the front so you can see all the hair or debris you suck up.The lights also flash if there is an obstruction. The floor bristles detach so you can cut out hair or string wrapped around them. It does seem like it has a heavier motor then previous sweeps and the detachable body is kind of heavy. With 2 cats and a hairy dog this was much needed. It is extremely effective in helping keep up with their shedding.I would give it 5 stars but it is not self- propelled and is sort of hard to push.
I've been using the shark DuoClean for several months now and I really enjoy this vacuum. It does a great job of cleaning. Easy to move along, simple to turn. The thumb height control is great, simply Change on the fly. The Canister comes off with a push of a button when using attachments if you want too. (One small issue I'm having is the Canister eject button doesn't release my Canister without some shaking and wiggling) . The multiple attachments are great. Note: the car clean up tools are a must have. For jobs like cleaning air conditioner vents or keyboards or small hard to reach areas including the fins on the refrigerator Compressor. (I really wish they had more that two ways to stow attachments on the vaccumn). The extendable long wand you can use under the refrigerator or couch is just great. The flexible small brush I use all the time for hard to reach areas, tip of baseboards etc. . (This one I want to keep stowed on the vacumn, however it falls off super easy). The lights are great. Both on the vacuum and when using the hose. (Some minor negatives other than the ones mentioned above, deep clean up of the waste basket is tough because there are way too many hard to reach areas in the basket. I'd like a self retractable power core. Using the hose is awkward because of how stiff the hose is. You have to hold the Canister or it constantly falls. I do have the Canister caddy, just too lazy to go get it every time I want to use the hose). But let me say, I live this vacuum.
This was purchased to replace an old Shark. While the old vacuum still did the job without complaint I wanted to upgrade to a device that offered the convenience of a canister. I was also very interested in the anti-hair roller feature. Setup was easy and soon I was testing the vacuum in the harsh environment of my carpet. Suction is very good through all attachments and the floor roller. Really enjoying the canister abilities although the size of the dustbin is a bit small. The flaw, for me is in the roller head. It works well enough, but the self-cleaning hair roller does not work. While the roller does wrap hair the access window makes removing the wrap much easier. I also prefer the bush roller on the older machine on carpet, but the newer works much better on bare flooring. Still, I'm quite satisfied with the purchase.
I bought this vacuum with all the bells and whistles. The caddy isn't necessary unless you're vacuuming a really large room. If you're familiar with shark rotator this one is very similar except its heavier and harder to maneuver. What i love is this one has extra lights on the detachable hose which is really handy and neat. The lights in regular vacuum mode is a must and this ones got em. Even in broad daylight the lights really help you see what your picking up and if you missed a spot. I cant roll right over the vacuum cord like with other vacuums and that slows me down. I love how you have the power button and you can switch from hardwood to rug on the handle right at your finergertips. I think I paid too much and I don't think all the attachments were really necessary but it definitely gets the job done and I'm happy with it.
I bought this vacuum thinking it would help with the pet hair that we have. The whole point was that I would not have to clean the brush. I've had this for about a month and I already have to take it apart and clean the brush because it stopped working. The photo shows hair that was still tight to the brush and you can see the hair removed from the brush already in the back ground.
