Bought this about a month ago - replacing a physically larger asian front loader HE unit. Rejoicing in clean clothes quickly! Quieter. Smaller outside yet bigger inside. Lack of an agitator is a blessing; it appears the tub with holes and 'lumps' really does do a fine job of cleaner. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It takes a little getting used to just because it works a little different from what you are probably used to. Call me weird but I actually don't mind doing laundry now! Everything has come out clean and it spins so well that I hardly have any drying time which saves me time and saves my dryer from wearing out. There is no "time" or "water level" selector but it figures all that out for you. I have read reviews that say HE washers take too long to wash or are loud. I was a little worried about that but it's simply not true, at least with this one. It's not loud, the sounds are just different. This one is nowhere near as loud as my old one. I can actually leave the laundry room door open and hear the TV just fine (NOT with my old one!). As far as taking longer to wash a load, I would say it's about the same or maybe even shorter depending on what cycle you choose. I must admit it was a little strange to see how much, or little, water was used. Yes, this one has a see through lid and yes, I did watch about my first 10 loads of laundry being washed, rinsed & spun...while my husband watched me with much concern! I have used just about every cycle from soak to deep water to bulky to wrinkle control to normal and have had success with every one. I am not one for change, I like predictability but I took a chance with this washer and am not disappointed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We bought this washer and immediately put into to use. It has surpassed my expectations greatly! I love how open and deep the drum is, and that it holds so much. There are so many settings to choose from, making it easy to wash everything from rugs, to delicates without worry. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was waiting to submit my review until I used the washer and dryer for a month. These appliances are the best I have ever used. They are both energy and water efficient and probably best of all, they don't beat up my clothes the way my old washer with an agitator did. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my Maytag washer and dryer for 9 years! It's still beautiful 😍
I have had several washers over the 36 years I’ve been married. Always had washer that had The agitator in the middle. This always managed to weaken over the number of uses. Plus torn apparel at times. This washer by Maytag is the best ever. My clothing looks like new and the fragrance you can still smell after the wash. I have the glass top where I can see what’s washing and the great wash force the cycle is in. Several settings that easy to adjust. Just love it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This was my first brand new washing machine purchase. I am very happy with its technology. The drum is huge which is great for blankets but I also feel comfortable putting in a small load because of the machines efficient technology. Not being bothered with the middle agitator is life changing for a washing machine. Very good brand and I am happy with my purchase after a month of using it almost daily. My front load wash just stopped after 9 yrs of use. It was fast and efficient. However, the care of trying to keep the odor down was a chore. So now I have the new Maytag top loader washer. It looks nice and works just fine. The only grip is it takes forever to do a load of laundry! But the price was right and if it last for 10 years I'll be happy. Just don't understand why they don't have a quick wash cycle. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Bought this fall last year and the only thing I like it that it's deep and has a clear top window. Other than that, it always leaves horrible residue/dirt on my black clothes... In the picture is my black jeans and my black jogging pants! I had to rewash it by its self to clean that mess off... This happens all the time!
Bought this washer about 2 months ago. I loved the size of it - only top loader I could find that at my height (5'3") I could reach in and touch the bottom without the help of tiptoes. But that's where the love stops. Even at a smaller size it claims a 5.0 capacity which sounded great. First noticed that the powder detergent I'd used for years with my old washer wasn't dissolving with this new Maytag washer and the clothes had sprinkles and/or clumps of white powder on all the darks at the end of each wash, even on hot, even with an extra rinse, even with a smaller load. Ran the machine with a washer cleaner and switched over to a liquid detergent - one I'd also used regularly with my old washer with no issues. This time the darks in every load had patches of a thin greyish sludge. It was still not rinsing anything clean - even on hot, even with an extra rinse, even with a smaller load. Cleaned machine again and switched to TidePods to ensure it wasn't that I was using too much detergent. All darks still patchy with the sludge - even on hot, even with a second rinse. I had to wash every load again on hot with no detergent at all and with a second rinse to ensure they came out sludge-free. That's 4 rinses per load! That seems like a LOT of extra water and power. Plus when you're doing laundry for the whole family that turns it into an all-day task! Not interested.
