We'd been using bottled water since we didn't want the waiting and repeated frequent re-filling that goes with the traditional pitcher water filters. We had already bought an on-tap water filter but the adapters wouldn't let us fit it to our new faucet when we shifted houses. We saw and ad on tv for the clear2O pitcher and decided to give it a go- hands down, it turned out to be the best purchase we made last year! After almost a year of using it continuously, here are our views on it. Pros: Clean taste- instantly noticeable Very Fast filling- as advertised Large Capacity- Fills and holds about a liter and then some A clear indicator to show when the filter needs changing- on average, about once every 2-3 months, depending on the number of people in the household. Value for money- $10- $15 per filter, depending on if you buy it in a pack or single, it's a deal any way you look at it, considering that's all you pay for clean, fresh water for at least 2 months, not to mention that it's made for the 'want it yesterday' folks, who don't have the patience to wait for water to trickle through a filter or an on tap filter, as you would with other brands. Cons: The hose that fits onto the faucet can be a little tricky at times to attach and detach, just take a wee bit of practice. The hose is a bit short so as a result you need to have space in your sink to stand the pitcher while you fill it- a little difficult when you have dishes in it! Taking it apart to clean it is a little tough as the portion that holds the filter is a little tough to separate from the main body. Having said that, the tight fit does ensure that there are absolutely no leaks! Overall though, this is a sound product. I was afraid the attachment that connected the hose to the faucet would break soon but it's still going strong after all this time, so it's definitely well constructed. I would highly recommend the Clear2O pitcher to anyone who is considering buying a pitcher filter or even an on-tap model, mainly because of the speed with which it filters and the 'clean' taste. No wonder it earned Good Housekeepings 'Good Buy' for 2008.
I have well water which tasted ok and is safe to drink but I wanted to try something to improve the taste and make me feel safer about drinking my water. I bought this product and I must say awesome my water now tastes like bottled water it fills super fast I usually filter the water then pour it into a larger water dispenser in the fridge and do this tell my 3 gallon water container is full this way I always have great tasting water already cold and ready to go I just wish they made this filter for my ice maker then it would be perfect without me having to try and fill ice trays. I also love how the indicator is actually based in water filtered rather then how long I have used it I always know when it's time to change the filter and always know I got my money's worth with every single one.
I bought this product for the speed at which it was purported to fill up. Not only did I get that, the water tastes great. Definitely cost effective as well, who likes buying gallons and gallons of prepackaged water when you can get it from the tap.All around great product.
This is a great water filter. I saw it reviewed on a blog a year ago and saw it at my local Wal-Mart and snapped one up. It filters water quickly and is ten times better than the other filters out there. I am glad that Wal-Mart has these!
These filter out MUCH more than the other leading brand filter pitcher does. My water tastes "cleaner" and has absolutley no odor when using my Clear2O pitcher. The 3-pack of filters is a really good deal since they last VERY long.
I have very bad water in my new house. This filter is very good. I will only drink water that is filtered with this product or bottled water. Each filter is good for 50 gallons, which is about 2 months.
This water filter is awesome!!! The water tastes very clear. The only thing negative that i would have to say is how you have to put the water into the pitcher. There has got to be an easier way. Also it would be great if they had a bigger pitcher. With my husband and 2 kids, we go through water like 4 gallons a day!!! And then it goes back to the filling part again.
