Like bananas? Like banana chips? These are the absolute best banana chips on the market. The secret is the honey coating on each chip. Other companies, in an effort to maximize profits, sell plain old banana chips, which taste OK, but Augason Farms banana chips hit your taste buds like a 20 ton wrecking ball. Get some now before the price goes up!
I absolutely love every thing that I have tried from the Augason Farms food storage can. I get a huge security having food in case of an emergency and I've started Trying them on occasion to get familiar with them and check out how they taste. They are very tasty and pretty much equal quality or better to similar items from a box or can. I wouldn't choose anyone but Augason Farms for my food storage/emergency food suy needs!
The banana slices were delicous and the can we opened was FULL of large slices! These are on the sweet side and I prefer using them sparingly in cereal and I also made wonderful muffins subsituting some of them for fresh bananas in my recipe and they were a big hit! Well worth the money.
These are GREAT! Love at first bite (hehe). Seriously, these are some great tasting banana chips. I keep them instead of fresh bananas because they don't spoil...I could never finish off any bunch of bananas I bought before they spoiled. For the price here, they can't be beat. I keep them in my cupboard at all times.
I am very pleased with augusons farm banana chips. over 2lb in a %23 10 can. They have a 10 year shelf life. However they are far too tasty to remain on one of my shelfs for very long at all.
My only negative is that it is a little too sweet, just a little. I love the crunch, the flavor and you can't beat the price/value. I noticed the ingredients lists, "sugar/honey", I wish they would drop the sugar part of that and go with just honey. Then lets see if it is too sweet. I have not only recommended these to friends and family, but I am buying several more for long term storage. If Walmart had an auto/subscription option for this (like Amazon does for many food items) to get 1(or 2 or 3) can a month, I would definitely sign up. This is my second Augason Farms product I have tried from Walmart (or Sams Club) and I plan to get a lot more as money permits, great value and flavor.
This was my first Augason Farms purchase and I am pleased with it. I mostly use these banana slices as a snack "chip" but there is a recipe on the can for using them as part of a granola but I haven't tried that yet. I find that using a few slices to snack on gives me a fairly quick energy boost that lasts quite a while. When I buy 'real' bananas, even just one or two at a time they go bad so quickly so I decided to keep these around for a healthy snack as needed. They are hard, though, so you definitely need good teeth!
Good flavor - totally satisfied with this item. Like to have these on hand for snack, but store where I shop does not always have them. Won't hesitate to order again!
Ingredients: Bananas, coconut/ vegetable oil, sugar/ honey, natural flavoring. Shelf life:sealed to 10 Years, Opened to 1 year. I was excited to find this for long term storage and at such a low price. I was a little dissapointed to see that they used oil in them though because that gives it a shorter life span and if not stored at a a lower temperature the will get rancid. Still though, I think it is a good but if you have a basement or root cellar that can reliably keep them cool and dry.
VERY high in FATS AND SUGAR CARBS. maybe good for storage / emergency where high calories in compact foodis helpful...but not a healthy constant snack due the oil and sugar preparation adding so many extra calories beyond simply dehydrator preparation you an do by yourself with simple tools.
