I bought this food as a means to travel light while back-packing. These strawberries are awesome!!!! Bright red, and tasty. What else can I say? Auguson farms makes good stuff.
My daughter loved the dry strawberry chips in one of the cereal brand. I couldn't find it anywhere with reasonable price but here. It arrived 2 days later than expected delivered date, but worth the wait! It is on the sour side more, but both my daughter and I love it.
My young son loves these dried strawberries. These are a good alternative to candy and junk food for the little ones and the can is large so it lasts a while. A much better value than other freeze dried strawberries you normally find in bags at Trader Joes and other local supermarkets. They are a bit pricey, but you get a good portion. The tin keeps them fresh for a very long time.
Special K red berries got me hooked on freeze dried strawberries. The Augason Farms berries are more tart, have a slight fishy aftertaste at times. But, added to cereal, the product is satisfactory and a good source of Vitamin C. Have been using a little daily. Will buy again.
Taste great with no sour aftertaste like the kind bought at the store. Disappointed that the can comes only half filled, though. Even if it had come 3/4 full, it would have been 5 stars. But half?
i have purchased %26 loved several of the Augason Farms products. this is my first can of the freeze dried sliced strawberries %26 most likely my last. it felt like it was almost empty before i opened it, but i figured dried strawberries might just be pretty lightweight. nope! the van is pretty much empty. i'd say it's filled maybe a third.
We are all acquainted with the 90% air when buying bagged chips. That logic does not make sense in a solid tin can. I was hoping for at least 2/3 - 3/4 full with the size of this can for the price. Nope, less than 1/3 is actual product. It's ridiculous to have this large of a package for this little of product. Really getting tired of the price gouging for food.
dented can
1st had trouble opening the can with our can opener. 2nd when I got the can open the strawberries looked like wood chips. I happen to have a different brand to compare them to
This is less than half full. i didnt order ground and crushed small strawberries. Nor am I interested in the powder in the bottom. I dont care about excuses. They know the packaging better than i do and this is terrible. No more Augason for me. Even if the held their shape - its ridiculous to receive a %2310 can with 3 or 4 inches of product.
