i bought this item when it was on sales about $15-15 dollars cheaper and i have yet to use it. all items seems as if they are great but this is more affordable...i cannot carry but so many MRE's....so i do not know how ppl store it when u grab what u can carry. this can be used for now or later. if you are 1 person and do not eat much this can last u a very long time if u prep 1 meal a week or so. keep water on hand. most of this food seem full of starch but the calories are reasonable
I bought this to prepare for the ‘just in case' scenerio. My husband just smiles at me when I prep for worse case scenerios but honestly, I just want peace of mind. If nothing ever happens and I never break the seal on this pail, I will be thrilled. I hope I never do but if I need to, it's here and I'm glad for it.
This is well worth the purchase! I ordered 2 of these! One for breakfast and one for dinner! I ordered for emergency but! I have opened and tried both for breakfast and dinner the banana chips are delicious! I may have to order more if I keep sampling them ha!
Received in 4 days after placing online order with Walmart. Item was well packaged. Opened the container for inspection, all items were accounted for with no leaks of the sealed pouches. Going to be see how long I can stay with only eating the entire Dinner / Lunch contents. Will purchase again! Dennis in Benson, AZ Great price and shipping... thanks Walmart
I bought this item about a month ago. It's better than I anticipated. I am a widower, 10 months into my 89th year. So far I've tried the hearty chicken, the stroganoff and the corn chowder--a total of 15 meals. The meal preparation is so simple; just boil water. I'm about to try another item.
I haven't even broken the seal on the bucket because I'm saving it for an emergency. That is why I'm only giving it a "good" rating. I don't know how the food tastes but I have high hopes. I have to admit that it gives me a sense of relief knowing that we have something to fall back on in case of a disaster. I'm planning on purchasing some other products as well. I think for the shelf life and ease of preparation it is a good value.
If you notice on the pail it states 21,020 total calories per the entire pail. At 92 total meals as stated, that's only a 228.479 calorie intake per suggested meal. That in my opinion is a near starvation diet. At a 2000 calorie intake per day, that is 10.51 meals. That equates to $3.427 per meal. Its far more economical to do a Walmart search for one gallon Mylar bags and oxygen absorbers and purchase side dish meals, hot cereals, pancake mix at Walmart the very same thing as in these pails and do your own. There's no bargain here at even their reduced price of $36.01, NONE! That's just my own personal opinion.
Purchased 2 of these buckets with a 25 year shelf life (sold by JCA VENTURES LLC). Today is March 3rd 2022 and they expire in 2031 which tells me they've had these since 2006. A little disappointed when your expecting the 25 year offer. But 9 more years is better than 1. I'm sure they will be fine long after that. It's just the principal of receiving goods that you pay them for due to their offer and you don't get the offer. That's like a tire salesman selling brand new tires, so you buy they only to find out they already have 30,000 miles on them. Don't offer 25 years if they don't expire in 25 years.
The product clearly advertises a 20 year shelf life, yet some of the products within the bucket have only a 5 year shelf life. Buyer beware.
These are normal meals that you have to cook for as you regularly do because they are not dehydrated, just a mix. I rather will buy Maggi or Knorr pouch soups or other brand that cost much less. In both situations you have to add water and cook for 15-20 minutes. Or better, buy the lead brand MH, a little expensive but I have tried before and are truly dehydrated, you have to add just boiling water and wait 5-7 minutes and it is ready to eat.
