A great item form emergency or for plain use, I am looking for more specials of this item and others of sdame food for home and long term storage!!
Just love it , it taste natural and the way I like it , it include already salt so you don;t have to add anything , usual I use half cup of the dry potato and 8 oz of hot water in ratio of 1:2 as I like it more dry than creamy . They taste very natural . I love the fact that is it so easy to prepare when you are on the run , time saver !!
Quality product. Arrived in excellent condition. Thankful Walmart is carrying the product online. Packaging for shipment, however, is not Walmart's strong suit, and frequently boxes are packed too heavy and without sufficient packing material to hold things in place.
being disabled and unable to peel or wash potatoes anymore, I stopped eating them, unless I bought the expensive pre made ones sold in the grocery stores. They are way too big for me, and not all that great. I found these by accident online, tried them, and I will never buy the others again. These are great!! Best part besides flavor is being able to make the portion size I want, with no wasteful leftovers.
The expiration date on the can I received was 2024. Perfect to store for future emergencies. The can is a #10 can, which is pretty big. It holds about 3 lbs. of flaked potato buds. I opened the can just to taste it. I mixed the buds with warm water (it wasn't even hot) and it mixed quite well. I added butter (or course, you would need to purchase the survival can of butter if you wish, but being this was just a trial, I used regular butter). Added a smidge of salt and mixed well using my manual whipper. It tastes pretty close to the regular instant potatoes. I think it makes a great staple to add to your survival kit. It's not bad at all.
This is the best instant potato I have ever tasted. It was so quick and easy. I did not have to put any season or milk. I just added to boiling water and stirred. On different occasions I have added other ingredients such as cheese, garlic, spice, family loves it any way I fix it.
To start off, don't make the mistake of using too much of this mix with too little water. A little goes a long way. I generally start off by boiling the required amount of water then slowly pouring in small amounts of these spuds as I stir. After everything has been mixed, I let it sit and solidify. If you don't exercise patience, these potatoes will still be delicious, but will be lumpy and have an odd texture.
I wanted to try this for my long-term food storage and it was better than expected!!! The taste was great!!! Only add water, I'll definitely be buying again.
Fixed these last night for supper just to try them. They were good---not homemade but good. So far the Augason Farms foods I have tried have been above average in taste. The one thing I have found however is that it takes more water and more rehydration time than the the directions on the label state.
Never received my shipment. Says it was delivered and I checked all my neighbors and no one has seen it.
