Excellent shaver my forth Braun. Replaced a series 7 Braun as it was less expensive to purchase a new series 5090 than replace the shaver head on the series 7! The 5090 shaves just as close as the series 7. The 5090 can also be cleaned under running water which will be helpful while traveling. Using the clean & charge station takes less time than the series 7 as well. Overall this is a great shaver.
I upgraded from a Braun model 7560 and this new one really shaves closer with less frequent charging. The old one was 10 years old so I hope the same quality is there.
I recently lost most of my hair due to chemotherapy. There were just patches of hair and my wife and I decided it would look better if I just shaved my head. I can't use blade razors because I also use a very powerful blood thinner and was told an electric shaver would not do a good job on my head. I bought this shaver and am very happy with it. I do my entire face and head with it and I think it does a good job.
This replaced my old Remington Rotery razor. I'm really pleased with the smooth comfortable shave. After the first week the battery is still showing two thirds charged. I haven't tried the cleaning station yet. Do to the cost I'll probably clean it manually.
Replaced my old series 7 Braun with this one. Very pleased with the quality and the motor strength. Excellent shave. This one is pretty big in the hand and the trimmer isn't quite as good as the old but the shave is even better. Can use plugged in or cordless.
Have used Braun shavers for years. Continue to get close shaves without irritating skin. Side burn trimmer is great. One charge lasts all week. Also great price!!
I like this shaver. I have another one, same model, that I bought three years ago. I took it with me to the country cottage on weekends. Now I have one at home and one at the cottage. No more shuffling it back and forth.
I have been using Braun razors for about 10 years. I have been using the Braun Series 5 5090cc for about a week and find it superior to the previous ones.
These Braun shavers are the best the world over and this one is no exception- with the self-cleaning module and the quality of the shaver this is a no-brainer. However, I purchased the series 5 and had I known the trimmer was just at the functional level I would have upgraded to the series 7. The trimmer on the series 7 is pretty good at trimming without removing all traces of facial hair that may need trimming or sculpting. This trimmer on the series 5 is more utilitarian for straight removal, Still- A GREAT VALUE!
I had used a low end Norelco shaver for 15 years...so long that the battery would no longer charge and was used as a corded model by my wife and I. After leaving it in a hotel on a trip, I figured rather than pay shipping on the old model I would shop for a new one. I read online comments and decided on the Braun over the Norelco. While it does the job, I am not sure it is any better than a $40 Norelco. If I was doing it again tomorrow that is what I would do.
