I am glad that I purchased this kettle. It is very durable, and it keeps the water warm for at least 20 minutes after boiling. Although the kettle is stainless steal, it is not a good idea to leave water in it because the minerals from the water will deposit on the inside of the kettle.
Plain and simple quality teakettle. Looks good, works well, doesn't scratch my stove or shed paint like my le crueset.
I accidently let the water boil out of my original Calphalon Teakettle which I loved and was hoping the new kettle would be identical. It is not but I like the shape and the price was totally different from my original kettle which I purchased several years ago and was in excellent condition until I let the water boil away.
It's well balanced, and I like being able to open the top and clean inside. Thought it's difficult to see the "Max level" when filling, not that it appears to be that crucial when you are making tea.
I was given this kettle for Christmas, so we have only used it for one month. I have followed all cleaning and use instructions to the letter. The lid is rusting along the rim and the whistle is anemic at best, although it did work well in the first week. I will be attempting to return it.
I bought this a few months ago for my wife. It worked great for a few months (we have a gas stove), until one day I poured water into a clear container and noticed many black flakes. Turns out the inside surface is degrading and leaving metallic sediment in our water. You can actually see the black metallic residue coming off just by rubbing a white paper towel across the inside surface (see photo). I wonder how long this has been happening before we noticed? Very disappointed - we have other Calphalon products that have held-up well, so we're surprised that this one has not. We have returned to our old (less pretty) kettle, which does not have this issue.
I love the look of this kettle, but it is not good since it already has signs of rust along the rim on top as well as on the spout
I have followed all of the care instructions but the lid and the inside of the kettle are rusted. I will be returning this product.
I purchased this product from Walmart over a year ago. Today when I was going to empty the kettle to make some more tea, I noticed particles at the bottom of the kettle. Those particles looks just like the paint or coating, that is missing at the bottom of the kettle. I actually poured out allot of water before I shot the video so there where way more particles before I shot the video What ever those white particles where, they could have killed me or made me sick, now looking back of the year, what if the particles did make me sick and I just didnt know it was related to the particles and the kettle? I got this kettle for my bridal shower and my husband has been using it. There are signs of rusting and there is black residue inside. After reading reviews I see this is a common issue.
