What can I say. This film has been a favorite of my familys for decades. The video quality of this bluray transfer is excellent. Colors are natural, picture is sharp and clear, and the scene details (especially in the mountains) are beautifully presented. The dialogue is clear too with a soundtrack that brings the movie to life. Highly recommended.
I watched The Deer Hunter twice within three days before writing this review. The purpose was to make sure I fully understood the movie. After all, the movie won five Academy Awards in 1978. The Deer Hunter was not easy on the mind. The first hour draged with wedding events that after about fifteen minutes simply became boring. The last two hours caused me to experience uneasiness because of the disturbing Russan roulette scenes. Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken, John Savage and Meryl Streep gave very good performances and the musical score was also very good. However, I will not visit the movie again because it is simply too long and painful to watch.
