This is my go to. But this last one I bought tastes aweful and is going in the trash. For 13 years this has been what I used and loved it but if this is the starting trend I guess I will be butter free. I'm so limited to what I can have and I'm just not crazy about the others. And this makes the best buttercream icing I hope you get this fixed.
We loved this product until just recently. We live in an isolated spot and buy in bulk when possible, so we bought about eight containers on our last off-island trip. We were horrified to find that every one has tasted awful, like rancid fish oil. We've never had this problem before. It ruins every food we put it on. We've already thrown out four containers and are very disappointed in the amount of money we spent on a product that seems to have been changed without warning.
Something happened to the Earth Balance soy free butter substitute the one in the red has red on the container. It was so good really delicious and then it changed probably I'd say three or four months ago and I thought that something had happened to my taste buds maybe but no they did make some changes and it has the worst most awful taste now that it's disgusting and I cannot eat it at all and I'm very disappointed because I'm trying my yokos and several others and none of them can measure up to the original but can't get it anymore.
This was our go-to for years and very delicious. Lately it has been tasting rancid. I bought two more tubs as I thought maybe we just got a bad batch, but it appears many others who used to love this product are saying the same. Please let us know what was changed and please consider going back to the old recipe.
Are used to use this vegan butter exclusively because it was the best tasting soy free option. This company chose the cheap and shotty route to produce this butter and now it is absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!! They have the audacity to charge the same price for an inferior product…shame!! PLEASE STOP BEING CHEAP AND GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL FORMULA!!!!!!!!!!!! This company should give me a refund for wasting my money on a product that I'm going to have to trash after only using it once!!!!!!
As a person with many food allergies/sensitivities, I have very happily been buying the soy free buttery spread for many years and have gotten others to do the same. I opened a new container yesterday and literally spit out my bite of food thinking it was rancid. It now smells gross and tastes disgusting! What happened? Also, why are so many companies jumping on the bandwagon and adding pea protein to EVERYTHING? Do they not realize adding a concentrated protein is more likely to trigger reactions in people, especially when it's being used as an ingredient in so many unexpected foods? Unless they return to their prior formula, my family will no longer be using this product nor will we recommend it to others.
I've been purchasing this for almost two years, since a dietary change. I had always enjoyed the taste and never noticed a smell. I bought a tub a couple months ago and it smelled and tasted awful. I couldn't stand to eat the food I had put it on. I was convinced that I had somehow let it spoil, and that caused the nasty smell & taste. I just purchased a new tub, and I was so sad to find that it was also disgusting. I decided to search online and just found that there was a change in recipe that has completely altered the taste. Unfortunately, I've had to throw this tub out also.
*WARNING* This butter has palm oil in it. I went through half of it before noticing it on the package itself. The ingredients shown on here do NOT list it.
I make the same cookies every year for the holidays. I've always used earth balance soy free as it tasted and acted the same as when I made the cookies with dairy butter previously. Each batch I made this year tasted horrible. I now have to look for a new vegan butter. I don't think I will be buying this again. Really disappointed and not worth the money now.
Did you guys change the formula or the packaging? There's a terrible after taste now. The first time I tasted/smelled it, I thought I must have left the product out too long and that's why there was a chemical taste. So I bought a brand new tub and had the same problem. Even the plastic has a chemical smell. Either you changed the packaging to something unsafe which is leaking chemicals into the butter or you changed the formula, which now gives off a strong enough chemical smell to seep into the plastic. In either scenario, where is the quality control? Was there no proper testing done before this change was implemented, or was this a cost saving measure that you thought no one would notice? I used to use this religiously. This was my absolute favorite vegan butter for nearly a decade. In spite of the price being higher than other vegan butters, I spent the extra money because the taste made it worth it. But I'm not buying this again (or any of your products for that matter) until you fix whatever it is you changed. 1. Because the after taste/smell is terrible and 2. Because, as a brand, I unfortunately no longer trust your quality control.
