Was looking for a cheap simple direct camera with a monitor that gave wifi option if needed works great for what I need it to highly recommend
I was so pleased when Sparks offered this monitor for review. We have a new grandbaby due in Nov and this will be perfect when the family comes to stay for the first time. First of all, the tablet was very easy to set up. The OS is Android so if you have or had an android phone, you should have no problem. There are onscreen prompts to help you along as well. There is a manual that comes with the product and while it does not explain everything in detail, again, if you're familiar with Android, you won't have an issue. Also a lot is trial and error. I don't like to always refer to the manual. For me, just experimenting helps me remember better. The picture is Very good and the camera is so cool. It has a good range of view and you can control it from the tablet (And I think your phone, though I have not set that up yet.) I was very impressed with the picture. We have the camera on a dresser that is within a few feet of the bed and the quality is excellent. There is also a slot for a micro SD memory card, not included, so lots of storage space with that. I love this and highly recommend. Before I close, I must say that when I first received this, the packaging was not in good shape and the camera would not turn on. Sparks gave me a customer service email and I contacted ematic. They sent me a return label and then sent out a replacement system, all the while contacting me on when they received the damaged one and when the new one went out. They could not have been nicer, fabulous customer service. Again, give this a try for yourself..... I'm pleased with it.....
Good clear pictures on this tablet. Comes with everything you need to get started. It was an easy set up. Leads you step by step. Had no problem connecting to WiFi. You can download the app to your iPhone and check it anywhere, really love that feature. Web cam looks nice in the room and covers a large range. Had to charge tablet before I started, but you have to do that with everything. Picks up sounds and will record. You can even take a photo and the tablet stores it. Well worth the money.
I received this item free to write a review. This baby monitor is awesome! With all of today's technology and advances it's come a long way from the old time sound monitors you used to keep next to your bed. This new Baby Monitor comes complete with a HD tablet and camera with sound. The most convenient part is there is an app you can use on your android or iphone cell phone. You just download the app and you can see and hear your baby at any time. Anywhere there is cell phone service you can do this - so practically anywhere!! The video has very crisp pictures if you're just a few feet away. The image tends to get grainy a bit the further back you go. Built into this baby monitor is infrared vision. This is awesome because even in the dark or a low lit room you can VERY clearly still see the baby. So your little he or she can be kept safely monitored even when they sleep. I highly recommend this product. You can't put a price on peace of mind and the safety of your little ones!
I tested the JBL HARMAN EBM104JB Quad-Core HD Tablet with Baby monitor. I thought this would be so easy setting this up and syncing this device to my phone. It was not as easy as I thought. The directions were not so clear. I even went to you tube and did not get the answers I wanted. So the camera has to go through a check before it will sync. Then it will tell you it is ready to sync. Then the monitors (up to 3) Can added. I did figure it out and had my Kitty cam working. I wanted to see what my kitties did while we were not at home. My phone syncs fine while in the house but I have been having trouble getting it to work when we are away. My phone will bring up the cam but while connecting, it shows a message saying camera is timed out. I can be outside walking around my yard and it works fine. I like the clarity that the monitor has and it is pretty cool how you can use the arrows and move the camera to span the room from left to right plus up and down. This monitor even zooms in a little. When you are using your phone to watch you are able to zoom in more and hear what is going on as well as watch. I could not get my phone to take a picture. I also could not get the picture on the monitor to send to my phone. It said it would sync with blue tooth devices. It did not or I could not get it to. Really like it so I am going to call the help line to see what I am doing wrong. The battery life isn't the greatest but you can go on line and play games. This also plays a list of songs that can play once or repeat. Pretty cute little cam.
The camera works well, but the video on the tablet is very blurry. The battery on the tablet doesn't last very long and it gets really hot. Haven't been able to connect it to my cell phone, maybe the image will be better.
I thought a high tech baby monitor would be awesome but unfortunately it is not all it's cracked up to be. Less is definitely more in this case. The monitor and camera looks great but it doesn't do the simplest function keep an eye on my child. Sometimes, actually most of the time, there is a sound delay or there is no sound. There has been plenty of times I can hear the baby from down the hall before it's displayed on the monitor. And the room is less than 50ft down the hallway. This is basically a google tablet. You can download apps, play music, you can connect it to your computer, play videos, record your child or take pictures, play 5 different lullabies, use YouTube, the list goes on! So if you want a tech device than this is it but I was not looking for a tablet monitor. One of the major downfalls is the battery life. It only lasts 2 hours off the charger!!! That is not very realistic. You can add more cameras. The camera is neat, it pans the room. You can control it on the monitor. Also you are suppose to be able to use an app on your phone to use baby monitor and that has not worked properly.
To start with i dislike giving negative reviews as i would rather everything work as it was advertised and everyone is happy. When i received the product is had been handled roughly by UPS the box was torn in a couple of places and it was misshaped but the contents look perfect and were encased in two plastic holders. I want to say that is why they performed so poorly but i cannot. I have had many JBL products and have always been pleased with their performance until now. The manual is poorly written and instructions are hard to follow. I have been working on this thing for 3 days and i am totally frustrated. If i had purchased it i would send it back and if JBL wants it back they can have it. I even went to the JBL and the Ematic website for support and i found the sites more difficult to navigate than they should be and i found nothing on this product. I have a camera system installed in my house and it consists of 8 cameras and a DVR which i installed myself. They are not expensive the DVR was around 200 dollars and the cameras bought off ebay at various prices. I have 3 that pan-tilt and zoom and have a 10 power analog and 10 power digital zoom for a total zoom of 100. They work great and i can view thru laptop from anywhere. I am telling you this to show i have experience in camera installation and set up. The JBL HD VIDEO AND AUDIO BABY MONITOR WITH QUAD_CORE HD TABLET does work as a baby monitor when using wifi and the picture is decent but it repeatedly freezes and must be reset to get it to work again. It repeatedly reboots and displays optimizing 9 of 90 or 13 of 90 and takes about 5 minutes to come back on. Then there is the display " UNFORTUNATELY GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES HAS STOPPED". The first photo in this review is what i saw most of the time. I was able to download the app on my iphone and the camera worked but after about 15 minutes it froze and rebooted. I tried to connect to iphone from about 50 miles away with no success what-so-ever. My experience with this baby monitor may not be the norm and it could have been damaged in transit so please read other reviews before making a decision to purchase.
Intructions aren't that clear. Screen is very blurry. Sound is so low and crackled. The video takes forever to load, if it even loads. It doesn't automatically connect to the camera and constantly disconnected from it. loses signal literally in the next room over. Camera is slow to respond. Just everything about this product SUCKS!!! I wish I could give it ZERO STARS if possible. Do NOT buy this piece of garbage!!
I purchased this for my grand daughter who lives 4 hours away. When it arrived the box was smashed. They tried returning it to their local Wal Mart and they refused to exchange it. That was the whole reason I purchased from Wal Mart incase there was an issue. They credited my card back and I purchased it else where. NONE of the paperwork was in the opened damaged box. This was a horrible experience!
