If you hand wash and dry and use the sharpening steel this knives are great
was a gift for my son (and for me because I do the cooking when i visit) He loved the presentation of the set. I saw them in the store and loved the "look" of them as well. A lot of good knives for the price I'm sure he will love them there was just one draw-back, they should include instructions on sharpening..a good set of knives can be ruined by using the sharpener incorrectly
