The product has a beautiful appearance which makes our new kitchen look top notch. It performs better than any microwave I have used. The features also make it easy to use.
This is our second Advantium oven. The first one finally dies after about 8 years. This newest iteration is sleek and modern looking. It's easy to install and matches my other GE appliances.
The GE Advantium replaces my toaster, microwave, air fryer and more. I am just beginning to use all the features. It’s incredible.
We were able to replace our microwave oven with this product. It does so much more than just microwave. We didn’t have enough room to install another built in oven so this was a great alternative.
This GE Profile Advantium wall oven/microwave was a direct fit replacement for an original GE Profile microwave that just stopped working but was from 1993! I can only hope to get half the longevity of this unit. Packed with features and functions, I have only had it a month so far. If you have a 27inch available cabinet cutout I would definitely recommend this unit. Only minor gripe would be the sensor cooking is not always accurate and hard to believe at this level of appliance it does not have a wifi feature.
Great features, easy to use, intuitive controls, microwave, convection, speed cooking all in one handsome product. What else could you ask for? It's cooking heaven in these busy times! It's energy efficient too, compared to heating up an oven. It looks so nice in our custom solid cherry cabinets too!
I've only been using this for a few weeks but this thing is awesome. There are a ton of features I need to try but the microwave works really well and I've used both the convection oven to toast rolls, and the speed cook feature to bake some croissants. They turned out great and I didn't have to preheat or use the big oven. I can't wait to try to bake more things. I really love that this is a microwave and an oven. A little on the expensive side compared to microwaves but so far I'm happy with the money I've spent. And it looks great in my island. My 1 complaint is an esthetic complaint. I ordered this product from a big box store and their online photos match this site but the oven I received had a rounded handle instead of the more square handle that would have matched my other GE appliances. I'm tempted to get new handles since this is a brand new kitchen and I really wanted things to match.
We had a previous unit and, after 10 years, when the internal chips failed and could not be replaced successfully, we bought a new unit. Since we already have a microwave, we use this unit strictly for baking and heating things up. One of the key features is that it heats up much faster than the GE oven we have and also cools off faster. This allows us to be baking at two different temperatures and times. One thing we miss is the constant clock display we had with the previous unit. This one only shows the time when you open the door-and then for just a few moments. We also were hoping this unit would fit exactly into the same space as the previous GE unit. Instead, although, at the store, the measurements we were given said that we could install this unit exactly as the previous unit in regard to width(height was actually the same), when the unit arrived and we went to install it, there was a little over an inch of space showing in the width. the good news is that the previous unit had side panels in black which were removable and the technician was able install them on each side of the unit to cover up the gaps. Since the previous unit was black and this unit is stainless steel, the black side panels go well with the unit and, to the untrained eye, they look great.
I've only had this microwave/oven for a few weeks so I've only used the microwave features so far. I like how the microwave operates and the clear instructions it gives. Looking forward to learning more about the convection oven feature and using it.
I will start by saying the oven looks lovely in my newly constructed kitchen. It was purchased to save space for a smaller kitchen. The inside is large and it is installed at counter height. I am on the petite side and my arm will barely reach the back of the oven to wipe it clean. While there are nice features like the express cook, there are other features I miss that you get with a standard microwave. Since I have not been using the product for too long, perhaps there are ways to accomplish what I want that have not been discovered and not in the instructions that came in the box. The microwave does not have a way to reheat at a selected temp and time. Unable to reheat something at 70% power for 1.5 minutes. The preheated selection of reheating a "plate of food" always over heats the food. That being said, I recently was successful at heating a cup of thick pea soup using this feature (heat 1 cup of soup) to the right temperature. A nice feature is due to the size, you can put a 9" X 13" pan in and it will successfully turn. Slightly bigger than that and it hits the sides and not rotate for even cooking. Regarding the oven and the tray you use for that, I tend to have a harder time getting it in place on the rotating wheels. First I heated the oven without the tray in and tried to add it with the items on it and it took so long to get it in place that the oven cooled down; and then I wasn't successful at getting it in place after all. The next time, I preheated the oven with the tray in it, added the items onto the tray, which took time and the oven cooled down, and I knocked the tray off of the rollers. This took more time to get the tray on correctly and the oven continued to cool. To date, I have not been successful at cooking a 9" x 13" pan of food completely even when adding more time to the clock. They have all come out uncooked in the center. A defect to my oven is that the control knob when trying to select temperature and time will bounce around and not work as one would expect. When turning the knob one way to select say 375 degrees and you go too high at 400 degrees, turning the knob the opposite way to decrease the temp does not work. My experience every time will have the temp/time bounce around and go higher and lower (410, 400, 390, 405, etc.) and it becomes a game to get it in the right place. Same thing happens when trying to select the time to cook an item. A service appointment has been made to look at this issue. A big irritant is that after the oven cooking time is done, it says to check the food, and after opening the door to check doneness, it will not give the option to add more time, instead it starts cooling the oven. It would be very much appreciated to learn how to eliminate this issue. At this time, I am not that thrilled with the unit. That being said, when I bought the item, it had better ratings than others of the same type, so I opted on this GE microwave/oven. I really like the concept of the combined microwave/oven and think the technology needs to continue to improve before I can recommend this item. One more thing, I wish the clock would continuously stay lit, not just when you open the door.
