This blender is like a mechanized chef! It knows how long to mix at what speed for the specific items you choose to use it for....speeds up, slows down...with no interaction on your part to do so! DEFINATELY not your run of the mill blender!! (It should almost have a name!)
LOVE This Blender!! Makes the Best Smoothies, Margaritas, etc - Very Smooth, No Icy Chunks - I Have Had it for More Than a Year & Use it Every Day, Minimum of 10 Times a Week - Don't Know if the Other Users Were Running the Mixture Inside the Glass Too Dry or Received a Defective Product, but I Have Had Zero Issues
Getting to a healthier lifestyle, I decided to purchase a blender to make fruit smoothies in the morning for breakfast. I found this one at Wally World and decided to purchase it. The "drink" button does and excellent job and I just got through making salsa using the "salsa" button. This appliance works very nice. I have only had it a couple of weeks but as of now, I would recommend it to anyone.
This blender was great...for about 8 days! There is a plastic piece that sits on the base of the blender jar to make the blades turn. The problem in the design is that the metal nut holding the blade unit together burned through the plastic piece and now the blender is useless. Until that piece broke the blender worked absolutely perfectly. I was able to make great smoothies with fresh and frozen fruit; silky smooth.
I purchased this blender and loved it until I went thru 3 for the same problem. They all burned thru the plastic blade rotator mechanism that is screwed on the bottom of the pitcher. Until they can come up with a new material for this part it will continue to happen. I make a lot of smoothies with frozen fruit and it can't handle it. It would be a great blender if not for that BIG issue with that part.
What makes a blender work? The blade. What holds the blade to the motor on this model? A cheap piece of plastic. We had this for a few months; I loved it. The buttons on the front were really easy to use, it had a feature where it would run fast and then slow so when I was making a smoothie the chunks would sink instead of ride around on the top... and then it died. Why? The bearings in the base of the blade were in plastic. You heat plastic, and it falls apart. The last blender I had was a trash-picked Oster that lasted for five years. We bought another. I don't like the buttons, it doesn't automatically adjust the speed the way the GE did. But I expect it to last much longer than 3 months.
I received this blender for Christmas. I used it through March, and experienced the frequently discussed plastic gear on the bottom of the blender stripping out around the square nut. I returned to Customer Service at one of my local stores, great service there...thanks WM! The blender was replaced with a new one. This one lasted less than a month. Don't waste your money. Regardless of how well it might turn out a product, if it's unable to perform for more than a few months, who cares.
I have bought two of these blenders to make smoothies with. Both broke within two weeks of purchase. The bottom of the glass container has a cheap plastic rotor that breaks with light normal use. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!
We were very excited to get a blender for our healthy smoothies! While there are blenders for around $20.00 we decided to spend a little extra hoping to get a better, more durable machine. The first machine made 3 smoothies before the motor shot out a puff of smoke and died. We returned it to the store and brought home another blender. The second blender was better and lasted 2 weeks before it too shot out a puff of smoke and died. When the machine works, it does produce a very good drink, well mixed and smooth but it seems these GE Digital blenders are NOT dependable. I have again replaced the blender but am worried that it will not last very long. We were extra careful, with the second machine, not to overload the blender and only added fresh and frozen fruit slowly and made sure there was enough liquid in the container so as to not strain the motor too much. It did not help. I would not buy another GE blender nor would I recommend this product to anyone!
The second time I used this blender I had the same problems most others had. It started to smell like rubber or plastic burning and quit working. The blade attachment broke off the bottom and the screw was showing. I should have read the reviews BEFORE buying this blender. Don't waste your money on this.
