While not having the speed or torque of my gas saws, this machine does remarkably well at small chores. I have used it for trimming and pruning trees, bucking small limbs and clearing brush. The battery (make sure you get the 4.0 AH one) lasts quite a while and has a fairly accurate charge indicator on it. Battery does take a while to charge, so consider a spare - they are quite pricey, so check out the saw first; if you like it, then get the spare. This tool has allowed me to get into areas that where difficult and awkward with the gas saws and next to impossible with a corded version. Greenworks has done a good job in design and manufacture of this unit, so much so that I am considering one of the pole saws. While this will not replace my gas saws, it is a great alternative to a small corded one.
