I bought the Worx - 8.0 Amp 14 inch chainsaw to cut up firewood. I have a bad back and can't handle a full-fledged gas-powered chainsaw. This chainsaw is light weight, easy to handle, and very efficient. I have cut up two years worth of firewood within one month.
This is a tool I rarely use (thus electric instead of gas) but a must when needed. I previously owned an electric chain saw kept primarily to assist in clean up following storms. Didn’t particularly like that one so I got rid of it a while back. But when we had hurricane Irma coming into our state I determined I had been a little premature in making that decision and figured I had better replace it. Having prior experience with WORX products I looked to see who sold them locally. Lowe’s was the only place that had their chain saws in stock. (I wanted to buy the 16” saw but they didn’t have it. As it turns out, this one does everything I needed it to.) They had another brand as well, but in my opinion the WORX has a better placement of the safety switch and more importantly, enough clearance between the handle and guard so you can wear gloves while using the saw and it felt more comfortable in the hand. Fortunately I didn’t need the saw for storm clean up but did have a tree that was dying. So this is the first use after owning it for about three months. This saw handled the tree admirably. The chain stretched a little after first use but adjustment was very easy. It has a manual oiler that I prefer. i would have liked the handle to wrap around the side for easier felling trees (not needed for general trimming) otherwise have no complaints. So, it seems this one should handle most everyone’s everyday cutting needs with ease. One more comment. Getting the stump out. Obviously could not use the chain saw to cut the roots - that would guarantee to ruin the chain and possibly the bar and sprocket as well. So used my WORX reciprocal saw with a 9” pruning blade to cut through the roots. (The tap root was as thick as the trunk itself). Took a little while but definitely saved a lot of hard labor trying to chop it out. Thank you WORX!
I bought this saw last month. It was delivered on time and came well packaged. The start up instructions were easy to follow and it took only a few minutes to fill it with chain oil and grease the bearing at the tip of the chain. It's easy to operate and makes a nice cut. This is a very affordable product for the average homeowner who is looking for a chain saw for quick and efficient tree trimming, etc.
At first the chain came loose a few times , afterwards it got better and it works great
I bought the 8.0 amp WORX14 inch chainsaw to use in my yard to remove some small shrubs. Imagine the power I felt when I used it for the first time I'd ever used a chainsaw. I threw the chain off after about 15 minutes because I hadn't tighten it enough before using. I was able to put the chain on by myself without anyone else's help. Being able to do the work I want was so fulfilling. Watch me as I build my tools up with more WORX tools.(I already have the blower/mulcher vacuum and I love it). By the way, I am a 5'4" lady weighting 145 lbs. who is 65 years old.
It's is more powerful than expected.
Just bought this, this weekend after having a tree come down. Let me tell you, this saw is amazing. Cutting up this tree like it's a twig. I highly recommend this chainsaw for anyone!
I use this chainsaw for cutting down bushes around my house. The biggest one I cut was about 5 inches wide. It will cut pretty much anything IF YOU ARE PATIENT. When I first started using it I was trying to force it through the wood and the chain would pop off. If you slow down, realize its an electric chainsaw and not a heavy duty gas chainsaw, it works great. I would recommend this to anyone that needs it for just around the house.
I used saw , worked very good but sproket gear was worn out and there is nobody has replacement it is discontinued had to throw away saw nobody had the sprocket gear [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought a 14" electric chainsaw a few weeks ago. On the plus side, it does work pretty well from a cutting standpoint. Surprisingly powerful and a good alternative to a petrol saw when you are working close to the house. Unfortunately, the downside is it leaks bar oil like a sieve. I did read a few reviews that noted leaking bar oil but it wasn't all that many so I figured I'd take a chance. But it didn't work. It leaks bar oil really badly, more than I've ever seen anything leak oil before. absolutely if I had known this was going to be the case then I would not have bought it. The attached photo is the saw sitting on a oil drip pan, I can not leave the saw on any surface. The amount may not look like a lot but it's from the cold saw just sitting and dripping. When it's actually running the amount is a great deal more, it goes all over the floor and will get onto whatever you are wearing. So, if you can get one that doesn't leak then it's going to be great, the issue as far as I can see however if you have no way of knowing in advance. I would recommend you consider other saws under the circumstances.
