Great for a small yard. Easy to handle and start. I wasn't great at edging at first but have the hang of it now and my yard looks perfectly manicured. Love the fact that it is battery operated. I have the Greenworks mower and love it. Thank you Greenworks for great products.

this chainsaw is perfect for the home use , half a tree came down in the last storm and this saw cut like a dream , smooth running , feels real solid . made a lot of cuts and did not run the battery out . already had bought the g-max 40v pole hedge trimmer so have a battery back up if I need . will be looking at more greenworks tools in the future . thanks

This saw is amazing! I certainly can and do recommend it. I have owned gasoline fueled saws in the past and have had to contend with mixing gas and oil, disposing of unused mixture when it became out dated, trying to start a saw that had been unused for a while, and visits to the service center for maintenance. None of that with a Greenworks cordless chainsaw. Just push a button and it's on. The last tree I cut down was a little over 16 inches in diameter and I had no problem with this saw. It's also a dream to use during the stop and go cutting when bucking. My first Greenworks 16”40 volt cordless saw was lost in a recent flood and I didn't hesitate to buy another.

We only have small trees, branches, and brush to cut through and it has been pretty effective for that. It is lightweight, easy to handle, and has good safe guards to prevent accidents.

This is my 4th Greenworks tool and my second chainsaw which, I suspect, says all I need to say about Greenworks. I have a mower and string trimmer that use the same battery system so there is never a worry about being ready to take on a task. I bought my brother the chainsaw for Christmas and helped him clear his property with it. Typical Greenworks traits: Low noise, no fumes and does the job with no fuss.

I live on a 2 acre heavily treed lot that needs periodic pruning and, at times, tree removal. I started looking at and comparing gas powered chainsaws and ran across many professional "chainsaw tests" that included battery powered saws. To my surprise, the testers ranked the Greenworks saws at the top along with the gas saws. I came to the conclusion that my chainsaw is something I will use a few weeks a year and the rest of the time it will sit in the garage. My mind immediately went to the dreaded task of trying to start a gas chain saw after it has sat for 6 months. Not to mention the vibration, noise level and exhaust smell. So I decided battery powered was the best fit for me. After way too much research and comparing Greenworks with another brand, I decided on this Greenworks saw based on 1) Price 2) Performance in the tests and 3) the other tools in the 40v family are also affordable. It would be easy to grow into some of the other tools in the Greenworks brand. I've cut probably 12 hours over several weekends now - I love this saw!!! I've already sharpened the blade once. The saw completely blew away my expectations. I know the tests results that I read said it performed as well as the gas… but I guess for some reason I expected “less” than gas. It cuts with ease through massive trees and all different types of wood. I probably cut down 5 trees and made well over 100 cuts before I was tired and had to take a break… the battery on this thing was still going strong. I put the battery on the charger while I took a break and then I started back up with an additional battery I had purchased. With 2 batteries, this saw could go all day and outlast me. (the batteries will not charge when they are warm, so I put the battery in the fridge for 10 minutes and then put it on the charger). Pros: Quiet. Smooth – no vibration. Easy to maneuver and hold. Easy to adjust the chain (as it works just like a gas saw). Oil reservoir is easy to access and fill. Cons: The battery can't charge when it's warm. But a few minutes in the fridge fixed that.

I bought this saw to have a lighter saw for use at home. I have a Greenworks 80V saw for farm use some distance away. Both saws are well worth the money. I don't use chainsaws enough to be comfortable with them. An electric saw is simpler to operate and seems to me to be safer--less noise, no smoke, and you don't start the saw until you have it in position to make the cut. The batteries have all the capacity that I need and more. If you plan on doing extended saw work you may want a second battery.

I absolutely LOVE this trimmer. It works much better than imagined and so much easier than my last gas trimmer. No more oil, gas problems, no pulling, much less shaking. In fact minimal hand irritation and so much more quieter than my old gas trimmer. Works fast and I get my full acre lawn worth of trimming done in a full charge. Very impressed with this and highly recommend if you are on the fence. Battery charges pretty fast right out of the box and its lighter and easier to use than traditional gas powered trimmers. Just 100% pleased.

This is my third Greenworks tool I've purchased this year. I chose the Greenworks line of cordless tools because of the consistent ratings and the extensive accessories and purchase combinations. The chainsaw worked perfectly almost right out of the box. I filled the chain oil resevoir and snapped in the 4.0 charged battery and did my limb cutting chore. Easy, quiet, quick, powerfull, and well balanced. Happy with the purchase.

I would've given this chainsaw 5 stars, if not for two things, 1st chainsaw doesn't come with oil,(can't use it, out of the box) 2nd I would've liked a longer Battery time (charged battery a full day before using). Other than those things, Good weight,, easy start up, Stop is on point. Cutting down a 10foot Yucca, was nothing.
