I use this machine to cool my bedroom -- and for that it works great. (My apt is a 1920s build and gets very hot when it's hot outside so this baby has a job on its hands.) I'm very happy with the purchase overall. Also, the auto evaporation feature is great as I wouldn't like to be draining the thing every day.
I love this unit. I have been using it since I took it out of the box. It is very practical, because I can move it from room to room with no hassle. The best thing is since there's no unit hanging out of my window my landlord doesn't know I have the unit and can't charge me for it. I have a very open floor plan and it keeps the entire area cool, which was nearly impossible to do with a window unit. Just set it for your desired temperature, sit back and relax.
This unit is being used in my office which has excess heat due to a server and heavy duty printer. It is excellent in cooling the office, which typically has a temp. of 78 naturally. We liked the product so much we bought another one for our telephone/computer room which temps. were in the 80's. My only complaint is that there is not enough hose for ventilation given with the purchase so you should plan accordingly.
This is a great a/c unit. Have not tried the heater out yet but expect it to be the same quality as the air. This product cools very well and did not find it to be as noisy as some of the other reviews had said. Overall, I would recommend this product to any one. We have been completely satisfied with the performance.
The product is sometimes a little noisy but we can still work perfectly in the office. Doesn't need as much drainage from the back tube. Is refreshing and keep the office temp. decent for us to work. We are in TEXAS is HOT & HUMID. But thanks to this equipment we are now able to function. Was easy to install and hope in the Fall will warm us up the same. Sincerely Jlaiz
Air conditioner works really well, cools off area we wanted to cool, sometimes too cold! Haven't used heater yet. Only disappointment was the fact that the AC has to have the outside vent, which doesn't make it too "portable" because it has to be near a window. Definetly worth the price.
I purchased two units and placed in each end of my mobile home. The only thing I don't like on the first unit, when it reaches the set temperature (heating mode), and cycles off, it usually won't start again for about an hour ........ even if the room is cold. It acts as if the thermostat isn't cooling off with the room temperature? When I placed an 8" fan on a stand about 15" high, and slightly blowing on the back of the unit, it'll start sooner ......... 20-25 minutes instead of an hour. Both units do a good job of heating, and the propane furnace runs less. Also they don't use too much electricity, from 3 to 4 times less than other electric heaters. Being these units exhaust outside, it places the house in a slight negative pressure, so you'll notice more drafts in the house! I look at these units as if their portable "heat pumps", which they are. Having the units in the house, enables them to operate when outside heat pumps won't ....... so thats good. All in all, I'd recommend these units, as their easy on electricity, produce a lot of heat, and the Wal-Mart price of $398.00 is cheap.
Pros: does cool very well. I have a studio which keeps the temeperature well under the temperature outdoors, its not extremely loud maybe as much as a fridge, portable has wheels, hose is extremely long for great reach, easy to use. Cons: bright no dimming options, keeps fan going after the temperature has been reached (would be nice if fan would shut off as well), if the hose is not properly screwed all the way heat will leak out, wish it had more setting to point air flow just has two... straignt and up, instruction book is very vague, also timer to start would be nice but it does not have.
After my first order was damaged in transit, I had to place another order for another one. I had it for about 3 weeks now. It is noisy and very load. Just as a window AC has parts outside your house, well this has ALL the parts inside your house. AC does works ok, but I wish I would of gotten one with more BTU's. Have not tried the heater out yet. Not sure I would buy this one again.
Keep your money this product does not work the way it should relative to the ratio of btus per square ft in the area I intended to use it in. I am very disappointed with this purchase and I plan to call customer service to find out about the return policy on site to store items.
